First and second  impression was that this place is where it's at! Good, live music. Small and cozy atmosphere. Really nice server. Menu is small and precise. Servings are smallish, not the place to go if you are a starvin Marvin. But I was satisfied. Food was so fresh! I'm talking super yummy fresh. I don't drink, but the wine menu appeared to be quite extensive. Attitude of the employees is mellow, I did not feel rushed in any way.  Seems like a great place to hang out, have a light meal, drink some wine (if you do that sort of thing), make yourself comfortable and enjoy the live music.
My one complaint: after I was there a while my eyes began to be irritated by something in the air. Dunno if it was smoke from the candles. (Restaurant was quietly lit by low lighting and candles. Although the "candle" at our particular table was battery, not flame, powered.) I really have no clue, it eventually began to bother Joseph's eyes as well so we left.
Otherwise I totally dig this spot.
My wife and I like this place. Â We have been here a few times and the atmosphere is kind of bohemian. Â It is very friendly laid back place where you can have a few drinks and get comfortable very quickly. Â I like the eclectic ideas on the menu and there is a good drink that is poured.
Review Source:My husband and I used to love this place. Â We came a few weeks ago on a Saturday--specials, wine flights, service and music. Â All were wonderful. Â Tonight, not so much. Â Server couldn't remember the wine we ordered, fine. Â But brie, which I've ordered on many occasions, was half the cheese hidden in the same amount of puff pastry, which was doughy because of the lack of cheese. Â Six crackers and two strawberries were included. Â I asked about the "fruit" that it normally comes with (used to be grapes) and the server said as long as she'd worked there, they hadn't served grapes... Hmm... since a couple of weeks ago? Â No specials this weekend, service was dismal and wine flights gone. Â Also noticed stock of wine was dwindling. Â So sad that it looks like this place is on it's way out. Â I'm sorry to see it struggle because until now, we've loved the place.
Review Source:I seriously love this place! Â It is the perfect spot to go and hang out with friends! Â Service is great and the food is to die for! Â Not to mention the wine, beer, and cocktail selections!!! Â I love listening to live music after a long week! Â They have also recently remodeled and the place is gorgeous! Â I feel like this place is a must-visit! Â HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Review Source:This is one of my favorite places to hang out in Mckinney. Â The atmosphere is fun and funky and the wine is great. Â The food is pretty good, just wish they would change up the menu a little more often. Â The staff is friendly and helpful and on weekends they often have live music that is entertaining. Â We love it because I can get a nice wine and my husband (who hates wine) can get a nice, strong Crown & coke. Â The staff is friendly and helpful and if you come often enough they will start to know you by name.
Review Source:I liked the place a lot. The food here is amazing! I thought the place is cute. Nice place to relax with the hubby. I am not a huge drinker so I was glad that they had small servings of wine for me to taste. I also loved the food. We had the tomatillo avocado salsa. It was delicious. We also had the vegetarian pizza and that was great too. Our waitress is also the cooks wife. She was very nice and was on top of everything. We also ordered some dip that wasn't on the menu. I am forgetting which one it was. That was the only thing that was ok out of all the food we ordered but we will definitely be back. The food and atmosphere was amazing.
Review Source:I wish I had something positive to say about this little place other than the decor is nice and cozy inside. Â But sadly, went tonight and waited 27 minutes for someone to even acknowledge our presence, much less take our order. Â The place was semi busy, certainly not full. Â I am so not sure what happened that we were completely overlooked but that is exactly what transpired. Â So...I know nothing about the food or drink as...alas we tried neither. Â Left there and went to Cavalli Pizza just a couple of door down. Â I am finishing here to write a glowing review about the food and SERVICE there. Â If I was the manager at ZZ, someone would lose a job.
Review Source:I just copied this from there website. Its the happy hour menu! Ill be here tomorrow night and update this review after my visit. :)
UPDATE!!!
So...I dont like the seating. Its uncomfortable and not great for groups. This place is cute but dont come here for wine. Come for the FOOD! The food is great! The wine is meh..Try not to think of Zin Zen for wine...if you can. LOL

This place is a nice and cozy spot. Â The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Â This was the first place I tried out after moving to McKinney and wow, how luck was I to have this be one of my first experiences in this city. Â I have to admit that at first I was a lil skeptical on if the food would be good. Â I tend to be pretty picky about food and food quality. Â The kitchen seemed pretty small and I couldn't imagine anything being cooked fresh. Â To my surprise most of the food was very tasty. Â Ive only tried their pizza and sandwiches but I really love them. Â However, if you go, you HAVE HAVE HAVE to try the hummus. Â Their hummus is the best I have ever tasted. Â It must be made with some kind of magic goodness. Â So, if your ever in town give this lil spot a visit. Â You will not be disappointed.
Review Source:I am pretty sure I have zinned, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Â What a cool little eclectic place to find here in McKinney. Â I love living here, but besides downtown McKinney isn't much for restaurant choices. Â This place wins my vote hands down! Â Artsy decor, super friendly servers and freshly prepared "gourmet twist" pizzas and such. Â They also have a wide range of cheeses and meats if you want to go the platter route. Â The prices are right on, the wine selection is fantastic and if you ask - comes with great advise from the servers. Â People are chill there due to the Zen ambiance, great place to lean back on a couch and sip a fab glass of wine. Â I give ZinZen a cool stamp of approval!
Review Source:I went here to introduce my mom to my girlfriend for the first time. I stopped by early in the day to scope out place and met the owner and a few regulars while at the bar. Later that evening when I walked in with my mom and girlfriend, the owner greeted me as if we were long-time friends and sat us down. The server then came over and treated us like royalty. She was very patient because my girlfriend (who was a little nervous by the way) couldn't decide on a wine. She didn't like one of the Reisling choices, so she brought us another at no charge. The food was good, however the salad dressing was a bit bland. The atmosphere was very comfortable and home-like (couches and comfortable chairs, dimly lit and art). I love the fact that a place like this is so close to home (I live in Westridge). I highly recommend!
Review Source:OK, those of you who slander the Stonebridge area of McKinney, listen up.....here is a place that may change your mind. ZinZen brings the funk to the rocky structured village.
I'm not that knowledgeable about wine but I do know a good martini and Zinzen has a very nice slection and knows how to execute them. The Key Lime was top rate, using the uncommon KeKe key lime crean liqueur. The poma was also delicious. Most are $9 but on Mondays they can be had for $5.
Cool vibe with comfortable couches and a good soundtrack to boot. Well worth the drive.
