I walked in with a buzz hoping to sing my sorrows away...
It felt like I stepped into a brothel/whore-house... (whore-house feeling #1)
2 receptionist guys were sitting down and me a a buddy (male) were asked how many people, so of course, we answered 2.
So one guy disappears and I wondered if he was getting a booth or table ready.
We end up following him and he took us to a tiny room and started turning on a T.V. and Karaoke equipment.... while walking there I could hear people laughing/singing... and I could've sworn I heard someone getting spanked. (whorehouse feeling #2)
Me and my pal looked at each other and felt it a little weird that we would've been 2 guys singing to each other.
So I told the guy I only needed 10 minutes (Whore-house-feeling #3) and he looked at me like I was stupid and told me they only rent the rooms out per hour (Whore-House feeling #4) and that it would cost $20 (Whore-house feeling #5)
So we decided to leave. I'm used to a Karaoke Bar... not whatever weird-ness they have going on here.
Not necessarily the best karaoke place, but it's not bad at all.
PROS:
- For a small room it's really cheap.
- The owners often let you have a free drink.
- They serve alcohol.
- They're open late considering how early everything in the area closes.
CONS:
- They don't have wireless mics.
- The equipment isn't quite as good as Muse.
- The music selection isn't as quickly updated as Muse. But it's still pretty damn good.
- The awkward Egyptian theme is awkward.
All in all, I come here a lot when I'm in the area. I'm either here or at Muse. Â
Oh and I know they have happy hour if you go before 7pm or something. My friend got a small room for $10/hour.
I love this place! if you have a problem singing in front of a bunch or strangers because you suck at singing, this place has rooms just for you and your friends so you guys can suck at singing together. Me and my friends usually get here really late after a night of drinking but this place stays open late. I'd call in advance if you plan on going late night and see if rooms are available. I just need them to update the english section of their songs.
Review Source:I don't know how much it is, but this is your basic NRB. you got the 2 mics, controller, screen, 2 books and the myriad of rooms with bad singing (ours included). they had all the new korean songs by month, and they also had a few american pop songs on there. fairly clean. the mics didn't work so we had to switch rooms, but this is your standard korean nrb. free parking btw.
Review Source:I reccomend to visit 501 NRB. It's really cheap and you will love there, workers are really nice to you. Its 20 dollars per hour, (Small Room) and you will defenetly get free korean soda. And I was there for my friend's birthday party, i reserved a big room there and played around like 2 hours. I also got free korean soda which i reallly loved, and it's not that expensive compare to LA Karaokes, you guys should try this NRB out !
P.S. try to reserve before you come if you are having birthday party.
Cheap  norebang/karaoke at 501 Music Studio. It's in the plaza next to the Honda dealership, kind of across Tozai plaza, and it's $20/hour. They recently changed ownership and have decorated the place in some weird Egyptian theme. I have no idea what's going on there, but it beats going all the way to K-Town for your inner American Idol fix.
I haven't been there before 9 pm before, so I can only speak of good parking post-9. This a Korean place, so most of the song selection is Korean, although they have Japanese and English. The variety of songs is decent, they have all plasma TVs now, and the rooms are clean and big.
Decent size room for $20, how can you beat that price! Â The place was clean, great karoke system, a/c, 2 mics, and a tamobrine!! Â The had drinks and snacks too if you got thirsty or hungry while belting some tones. Â If I ever in LA again, I would difnitely stop by and sing at this place again.
