Drinks were decent, service was extremely lacking. The bar was slow. When we decided to get food, I asked a waitress if we could have a menu and she told me I could go get the menus myself (not rudely but it was awkward). Â Then never came back, Â asked again to be waited on... was told she would find us a server... that never happened. .. left frustrated 30 minutes later. It just seems like they can't handle the size of their own place.
Review Source:I was passing through Pensacola and went with some friends to this new restaurant downtown. Â Their niche is to specialize in steamed seafood so that is what we all had. Â I really enjoyed my meal and the casual atmosphere. So did my dining partners. Â Staff was very friendly and attentive. Â I consider this an excellent choice for a change of pace, and an especially good choice for those avoiding grains or gluten. Â I just wish there was something similar in Austin.
Review Source:To be honest, the portions were too small for the money. Â
The gumbo was pretty good, but the portion was really dinky for $8.50. Â I wonder if the bowl and the cup are the same size! Â When it came out, it came out in a big-looking bowl but it was very shallow! Â Drinks were tasty, we had the Electric Eel and their spin on a Mai Tai. Â Service was quite good, thankfully. Â Our waiter was chatty, friendly and attentive of what we needed. Â
We had the fries as an app, and while good, they weren't worth what they were charging us for, and they were overdone! Â At home, I generally overdo my fries as I like them extra crispy, so if I found the fries too done. . . Â Well. . . Â
My friend had the pulled chicken sandwich and she found it quite delicious, but her batch of fries were overdone too. Â
Still, it wasn't a terrible experience, just too expensive for the quality of food and the drinks! Â They were good, but they weren't strong!
Great experience! Went on a Thursday night with our toddler and it was great. Open seating with picnic benches, plenty of room between tables. Live music started at 7pm and our toddler enjoyed it! Tried the Pensacola Palmer (lemonade and sweet tea vodka) and it is my new favorite! Love the idea of the steamer basket- you can customize it to what you want! My husband and I both got the Cajun and it was delicious. Not overly spicy- but good heat. The jalapeño hushpuppies are awesome to me! Not to hot at all. Staff was wonderful and very attentive. (thanks Blair!) We will be back!
