worst blowing "check in" experience!
Amiee, working the front counter was everything but welcoming. I recommend under-go some kind of training on customer service.
As Amiee was chatting with a buddy over the counter; i tried to catch her attention to obtain a lane for two, for two hours...
WOW! i never seen anyone tried everything in their power to ignore a customer. This bowling alley was super dead... i think i've seen this massive venue only has two customers (two lanes in use). After waiting forever, just to request a lane... she said it will cost $60 for 1 lane for two hours for two bowlers.. in a super unfriendly and rude tone... wtf!?
ummm, sorry... but what did i do to you!?
- I ended up walking out.
I ended up going to AMF Lang's Lanes (also known as AMF Cranston Lanes <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/amf-cranston-lanes-cranston-2">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a> )
Two hours, two bowlers for $14.28....
I do not recommend this spot... but i recommend this link <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/amf-cranston-lanes-cranston-2">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>
As far as the bowling part goes, it's your average bowling alley. Â Nothing particularly noteworthy about that aspect except for the fact that the score keeping computers appear to be from 1992. Â We met up with a big group of people on a Saturday night and had 10 lanes reserved. Â My boyfriend went to get our shoes for us, which took him over 10 minutes because the place was so crowded, but I suppose that's to be expected at prime time on a weekend.
The part that makes this place a complete fail is the bar service. Â If you plan to drink while you bowl (which, in my opinion is the only way to make bowling really fun), then you have to do one of the following:
1) Arrive at least a half an hour before you plan on bowling, and get a pitcher (if there are any left... we were not lucky enough to score one) so that you won't have to return to the bar every time you want a refill.
2) Bring someone who doesn't want to bowl to be the designated bar line-stander. Â Here is your chance to invite that really annoying friend who always wants to hang out but you don't particularly want to hang out with. Â They will spend pretty much the entire evening standing in the bar line for you while you have fun bowling. Â And they will probably never ask you to hang out again! Â It's the perfect solution!
3) Devise a way to get the attention of one of the waitresses early, and order 2 buckets of beer with ice. Â That way you only have to order once.
In all seriousness, HORRENDOUS bar service here. Â They were out of all of their draft beers except for Bud Light and regular Sam Adams. Â They were out of pitchers. Â I stood in line for over half a game (and still wasn't close to reaching the bar) before my boyfriend came and got me and told me they'd managed to find a waitress. Â When we ordered 2 buckets of beer, she brought us one cold (with no ice) and one warm (with a tiny bit of ice) because they were out of cold bottles. Â The only bright side was that it only cost us $35 for 12 bottles of Coors Light (the mountains were not blue!). Â Sure, it was decently crowded, but I've seen 2 bartenders manage to keep up with bars at full capacity better than these bar tenders kept up with a line of 20 people. Â Horrible!
Pretty big place. Came here with a group of nine and ended up splitting into two 'teams' taking up 2 adjacent lanes. Prices were pretty good, $14 per person for 2 hours of bowling. Sadly, we just missed out of the rock-n-bowl... complete with huge projection screens playing music videos and blacklights... but somehow I think this was for the best since I wasn't doing all that well bowling with the lights on... no need to add additional challenges. The place was pretty packed when we arrived... it appears the bowling alley is the place to be... and picked up more as the evening went on. Fun times and great for a group. Our other option for the night was Dave and Busters, but we figured bowling would actually be more time spent -together- rather than off playing games separately. I was happy with the choice... even if I was on the lower end of the score ranking.
