The pizza was pretty good, but they lost a few stars because of the horrible atmosphere, service, and overall experience. Â
They messed up our order, but instead of apologizing, the young guy behind the counter said, "oh sh*t!" and never said anything else about it. Â A dirty-looking older gentleman opened the pizza box, threw on some tomatoes (only fixing half of the screw-up of our order) with aforementioned dirty-looking hands, closed the box, and then handed it to me! Â I will not be back. Â I understand that mistakes will be made, but this was not handled properly and I can get good pizza at another establishment.
We've gotten take out pizza here twice and both times it was great. The stuffed pizza was almost perfect - it did need extra sauce (not sure there was any on there) and more cheese. Â But still, great pizza at a reasonable price. They also sell a big variety of pizza by the slice, along with other items. They also have a pretty big dining room and both times I've been there, it has been full. Â I would definately recommend.
Review Source:Had their pizza...
As mentioned before, rushed out, dough was soft... it a by the slice place, maybe that was why, they are accustomed to soft twice baked pizza.
Toppings were limited, and even the specialty flavor... Margarita was merely cheese.. Mozarella only, no sauce to speak of and very dissappointing.
We had trouble associating this with Italian food. Â I would hope the pasta etc was better, but I won't be back to try... not worth my time.
We love Amore and order it quite often. The pizza is great and always sounds good. I prefer the BBQ chicken pizza with extra BBQ sauce. The chicken parmasan is excellent as well. This is priced very well for what you get.
When the brothers are working; all goes extremely well. In the past we have had orders that we called in and when we arrived to pick it up, the teenage girl working the counter looked at me like deer in the headlights and it wasn't ready for another 20 min. But, they have fixed that.
This is a great place to take the family. Occasionally you may run in to the Colts offensive line! Keep up the good work guys!
I'm originally from NY and of Italian descent, and can say that other than Chicago style pizza ( an entirely different category for me) this is some of the best pizza near Indianapolis. Â A great casual pizza joint where the food is the focal point of the decor and experience. Â Prices are a little higher than expected.
Review Source:Decor is upscale despite not being a sit down restaurant. Â You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Â The upside is you spend less without a tip. Â Entrees are $10 and include salad and garlic knots. Â Salad and entrees are huge, so I recommend splitting one, bringing down the price to $5 a person and no tip to boot, so not sure how one reviewer qualifies that as expensive. Â The pasta is basic, but for so is nearby Oobatz which costs twice as much for pasta dishes, and a third the cost of Villagio which frankly isn't that great (better than Amore, but for that price I'd rather go to Sangiovese). Â Anyways, for family dining, Amore fits the bill. Â A single entree is actually enough for my wife and I and our 2 year old, although kids meals are only $4 and include drink and cookie (pasta is also huge, so enough for leftovers or a second kid). Â I haven't had the pizza, but heard it is so so, probably what you'ld expect from pizza sitting out that is reheated. Â Overall, a great value and great family dining option.
Review Source:This is more than a pizza place. Sure, they have fresh-made, New York-style pizza, calzones, meatballs, etc. But have you ever had a rice ball? It's actually traditional Sicilian street food: rice, peas, mozzarella and what I think was ricotta and meat all rolled into a giant, breaded ball. I could only eat half at a time.
