I've had both the pizza and the meatball sub here. Both of which were pretty good, and I would go back. Is Anthony's on par with NY Pizza? There are pizza places on just about every corner in NY and Anthony's is just as good as many of them, better than a lot of them, but certainly not the best pizza ever.
Great place to stop and get a slice.
Anthony's is definitely among my favorite, but the way I was treated last night was so, so, SOOOOO out of line and inappropriate that they get a one star. Don't know if it was the owner, assuming the guy was because he works with his son, or maybe just a manager, but I felt so uncomfortable.
Minimal flirting is fine but the guy should have stopped when he saw my I.D. which uh, clearly states that I am 17 (underage). He acknowledged that. But instead of stopping he just decided that it was enough justification for his behavior to acknowledge my age and continue on. I learned that he is not only way too old for me, but his son is also, way too old for me. So just to give you an idea of where I make the distinction of "way too old for a 17 year old girl".
He kept making all these gross comments and then came over to me and asked for my id again, went into the back with it, showed it to the cook, they both started laughing. He was apparently trying to prove to the cook that I was indeed underage.
Then he came up to me while I was sitting down and had a three minute discussion with me about how he just liked to be "upfront with girls cause that's what they like" even though I'm pretty sure at that point it was established that he didn't even NEED to say that because I am too youngggggg for youuuuuu and what you're doing is illegal.
I ate my food alone, which was 10% off by the way, and walked out with a free drink, a free brownie, and a free cannoli.
But as I walked out, I heard a resounding "WOOH YEAH GIRL GET IT" from the four men who were working. And yeah, I could see all of you in the reflection in the glass even though my back was turned.
So inappropriate. Like, how much more can I stress how uncomfortable this made me feel? I probably would have left had three families with little kids not come in. A very unpleasant experience.
But I'll probably be returning because if this is how they treat all their female customers, then I know I won't have to pay more than $6 for a full dinner, plus more, again. I also know that I won't be calling here for delivery because I don't want to know what might happen to me when I'm home alone if none of them seem to care about how they treat their young female customers.
I'm also considering filing a complaint with the company. Actually I WILL file a complaint with the company.
