Good ol' Applebee's. The food is always great, and the servers are usually pretty awesome. I have been going to the Anderson location since I was a child, and it has always been great. Some of the newer menu items are not that great, such as the sizzlers. For one they stay extremely hot for too long to get to enjoy them, and then they are bland! Stick to the ribs and burgers. The fried green beans are very good too. I will always go back!
Review Source:My husband and I stopped in for dinner on a busy Saturday evening.  We are new to Anderson, but have frequented Applebee's all over the country, we have always had great food, and great service.....except this visit.  Our host was very friendly and seated us right away.  The table (and chairs) were unfortunately, dirty....as was the silverware.  Not being difficult people, we just asked for extra napkins and cleaned the area ourselves. Our server, unfortunately, was one of the most unfriendly people that I have met since moving to the area.  She started out ok, no smile, or greeting but at least took our drink order.  She came and took our food order, and I can only assume that she was unhappy that we ordered the 2 for  20.00  special.  From that point on, she was rude and abrupt, she went so far as to bring our appetizer and dinner out all together, dropped everything on the table, and walked away with not a word!  The food was good as usual, but we ate quickly and paid our check feeling quite uncomfortable.  We only left her a 15 percent tip, and we usually tip 20 to 25 percent....hopefully others who are similarly treated will follow suit.  We will not return to this Applebee's....the are plenty of others close by.
Review Source:Before you judge me, I didn't choose to go here. I've never cared for Applebee's. If I'm going to eat at one of the casual dining chains, I'd pick Chili's, Houlihans or O'Charley's any day of the week. But this location was especially bad for me.
It took us about five minutes to get seated when most of the restaurant was empty. I'm sure our waitress was a wonderful gal, but she sure didn't show it that night. She rarely came to our table, or any table in our kitschy dining area. She was kind of unpleasant. Wish I remembered her name
For appetizers, our cheese sticks were cold and undercooked. How can you mess up fried cheese sticks? Seriously?! BBQ boneless wings were good, about on par with Wendy's. But more expensive.
I had a bland, unimaginative steak for my entree. I ordered medium-rare and it came about well-done. I would've sent it back had I seen our waitress. Plus the replacement probably would've been bloody and tasteless, instead of dry and tasteless.
Nobody else at my table enjoyed their meals, except for the girl who wanted to go here. She really love those skillet sizzler things...
We still left our bitter waitress an 18% tip, just out of common decency. But then I wrote on the check "You were a terrible waitress and didn't deserve this tip. Enjoy!". I really showed her!
The sad thing is Applebee's has really improved in the last few years, but its still bad.
There's a Ruby Tuesdays down the street. Do yourself a favor.
