It was raining and windy from the residue of Hurricane Ike so I didn't want to drive far but had been holed up all day and was getting pretty hungry by 6pm. Â I headed out for Ponderosa Steakhouse's Buffet but when I saw the Fazoli's, which was much closer, I decided to pull in here. Â I had been wanting to try it. Â They were having a special on Sampler Platters so I got the one with Ravioli, Fettuccine Alfredo, Crispy Chicken and steamed broccoli for $5.99. Â It didn't look like a lot of food at first but I was pretty full by the time I was done. Â It came with all you can eat bread sticks and they were really good. Â So was the chicken. Â The Alfredo sauce was good but the noodles were a little too al dente for my taste. Â The broccoli was great, the ravioli might have been a little overcooked--had a bit of a pasty flavor. Â The marinara sauce was pretty good, too. Â There was a Parmesan cheese shaker on the table so you could put as much as you wanted on. Â I liked that. Â I do wish we had Fazoli's in San Diego--drive thru pasta would be nice, fast food or not.
