Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar

This restaurant constantly overcooks their steaks. My husband and I both like to order it medium, and they always come out horribly overcooked. The six times I have frequented this restaurant in the last year, the steaks have been overcooked each time. The last two times I ordered the steaks carside to go, they were still overcooked. Why can't their chefs cook a decent steak?

When it comes to local chain restaurants with "all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks", Applebees in Deptford is my fave.

While out shopping near the mall, my fiancee and I decided to stop in for a late afternoon bite. No wait for a table, as the restaurant was barely half full. We ordered a pitcher of draft beer as part of the happy hour specials and placed our order for the boneless buffalo wings appetizer as part of their 2 for 20 promotion. She ordered the bruschetta chicken for her entree and I ordered the chicken carbonara fettucine. Our waitress was friendly, and brought us the beer right way. She also checked on us throughout the meal to see if we needed anything. The beer was cold, the wings were hot. Our entrees arrived just as we were finishing the wings and they were also served piping hot. My plate was loaded with creamy pasta, covered in fresh tomatoes, peas, mushrooms, and strips of grilled chicken. Hers was a huge chicken breast covered in bruschetta and a blend of parsley and Italian cheeses. She could not finish it. While she liked it, she noted that next time she will order the oriental grilled chicken salad, which is one of her regular favorites.

The music in the restaurant was pretty good that day. 80s hair bands.

We finished the pitcher, and got a take home box for her chicken. We did not order dessert, and our bill came to a cool 32 dollars with tip. Good deal! Yes we will be back again.
