I've been in here several times, but it should be noted that I avoid crowded times. I always sit at the bar, myself. The bartender is always friendly and professional and I have met several. Nice casual atmosphere and the patrons are always friendly as well.
The food is surprisingly good and I demand heavily flavored foods. The N'Awlins Skillet is killer... Double barrel sirloins rock... The pasta dishes are also very good. The nachos are HUGE - tasty and priced fair, could be a meal by themselves.
Great place for a quick bite or some serious face-stuffing.
Mother's day 2011 here was a huge bust. Over-crowded, incredibly loud, and the server Ashlee (it's very rare that I pay attention to or remember a name) actually argued with us over our drink orders. She told Fred that he ordered a double, which I have never seen him do in all our years. She also gave him diet soda, and argued that it wasn't diet-- you can taste diet, it's not mistakable. I don't drink soda but Fred had me taste it just to make sure he was correct, and it was in fact diet. She gave Jane the wrong flavor sangria and said that that's what Jane ordered. I ordered water with no lemon and there was a lemon floating in the water (not on the side). Our orders arrived promptly and were cooked very poorly.
I'm not someone who complains about price, but 2 friends and I came here one night for dessert because we were feeling "bad" and also wanted to save money. We paid as much as we would have for meals.
I have never been to any restaurant that uses eggs in their quesadillas. I am allergic to eggs. I realize it is entirely my fault for not inquiring, but I'd have to assume that they use eggs either as a filler or as something in which to crisp the tortilla. All of my steaks and burgers have always been burnt to a crisp. Another bad thing is that it's right across from Wal-Mart, so many people from there just flock to the place which kills the ambiance.
After the lawsuits and fiascoes with alcohol being in children's drinks, we never ordered anything for our toddler. They seemed upset that we had our own drink cup for her.
With being open until midnight, we would come to the bar sometimes just to get away from our usual scene of Embers or Wiener World. The drinks were always made terribly, or the bar tender didn't know how to make even the simplest of things. We don't do that anymore
I don't know why I'm complaining, it's not like I expect much from a place like this.
I have been here when it is busy and when it is slow during lunch. This visit is a rating of the former - take my advice stay away on a packed Friday night. The service was okay, but the dishes were dirty and the food was not right - meatballs weren't cooked all the way through and the chicken fingers were small. I had my napkin taken between the appetizer and entree for some reason and they brought my wife honey mustard when she requested ranch and bar b q sauce. I will probably not come back unless it is for lunch and the lot is not full.
