I used to go here a lot. It was one of my favorites places to dine but I stopped going cause the service is sooooo terrible! Last time I was there the waitress didn't refill any of our drinks for our table of five so we asked for water and she says she'll be right there! Minutes pass and no water. After maybe 12 to 15 min pass we ask another waitress for water and he gives a a glass of warm water with no ice. I stopped dining in and started ordering take out but I'll soon stop doing that because the people taking your order on the phone are still rude. The food is very very cheap and taste really good but even that doesn't help when the staff is so rude!
Review Source:I've been here once now and I've got some mixed emotions about the place.  I love dive bars, and this is a pretty good example.  If you do not like smoking, DO NOT come here.  There is a bar and restaurant side, however they are only divided by an imaginary line.  The food is good and some dirt cheap prices.  I got a good size NY strip with 5 large fried shrimp  and 2 sides for $8.95.  I can't think of anywhere else in York that has that kind of deal on good food.  The drink prices are also very reasonable.
For me, the downside of this bar is location. Â It is not in the worst part of the city, but it is the city nonetheless. Â This by nature, seems to bring in some somewhat sketchy clientele. Â They do close at midnight though, to cut down on any late night nuisances. Â
If you are looking for a good meal and few drinks for cheap, check this place out. Â Just remember you will be surrounded in cigarette smoke as you eat. Â Make sure you also bring cash, as I am almost certain they only take cash.
this place is simultaneously one of the shadiest places i've ever been and also one of  the best. let me explain...this is a 'hood bar/restaurant. lots of people from the surrounding neighborhoods and work places come in here. there is a pretty good mix of blue collar/redneck/white trash/ghetto/pimps/all colors that come in here and i wouldn't really recommend for the ladies to go here unaccompanied.
that said it is a throwback to another era. the absolute cheapest drinks (even cheaper than the social clubs like legion or elks). think $1 beers and $5 surf and turfs. Â and it is good -- not the best you've ever had-- but the price is what really makes it outstanding. service is usually good but it can get really busy and the servers can only do so much. the owner tries to keep things civil in here and that is the reason for the sometimes old fashioned and slightly arbitrary rules...gotta draw a line somewhere and jerry rules with an iron fist.
notes: cash only and the whole place is smoking. plan accordingly.
