If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I opened a tab...I only got about 4-5 drinks. I closed my tab and my total was only $28...left the bartender a cash tip. So they should have only charged my card $28, right? Wrong!!!! I just checked my bank statement. These idiots charged $100 to my card. I kept my receipt, however; so they will be giving me my money back. Ugh, I guess that's what I get for trying to party in York!
Review Source:OK....sooo I'll try to write a non-biased review so here goes.
The location is weird...off of george street in not the nicest area of town, a little rough.
The actual inside of Lux is actually pretty nice, though! They have a great bar and this glass that is located throughout the club is AMAZING! Also, cigars?! yes, please!!!! Great selection of both cigars AND liquors. I think they even have that $140 per shot scoth (can't recall the name). These things are the things that I LOVE about this place.
Now to the not so good parts:
I wish they would stop serving food. I ordered a cheese plate expecting it to be fine cheeses and crackers/pita but it was deli style cheese cubes that tasted like plastic and the crackers were flavorless and bland. Very disappointing. Also, I'm not sure if they are doing this anymore but at one time the place was featuring fried fish and chicken. Umm.....what? Not even the most urban lounges (Dubai, for example) in Baltimore do that. I thought it was supposed to be a classy joint. Additionally, I get that York has a high Latin population...but the latin nights are a little rowdy and tragically exclusive to the wider population of York. Another weird thing about this place is that they are now promoting beer pong for a college night. That's a really weird thing for an upscale lounge to do. Salsa lessons, Business/political parties, or maybe even wine/cheese tastings might be benefical for their off-nights (weeknights) but catering to the college crowd is a little off-putting when considering their theme. Also, I don't know why they do this...but they keep letting promoters throw parties at their club. Not to say that it's unbeneficial to allow promoters to have a few nights every once in a while to bring new people in...but it reminds me of the failed clubs in Baltimore that always meet their demise after allowing too many promoters to take the reigns.
My advice: allow only 2-3 promoters to have 2-4 nights of the month. The rest should be all you. Look to Level 2 in Harrisburg for ideas. And maybe ideas on how to get more variation of djs.
Hope that helps! :-)
I've been here several times. It's a decent spot for the area, the main dance floor area is catered to the Spanish crowd  in regards to the music, or I must be going on the wrong nights. They have a smoking area which is nice because my husband it a social cigar smoker and the music is better in this area, more of the R&B and hip hop flavor I like.  The drinks are reasonable and the place has a trendy atmosphere, but as always in York people are not too supportive of this any new spots.
