Great new choice for York. We had a really nice meal there last night.
The building is very cozy. Strange, since it's not my style, that I felt so welcomed. It's almost like dining in someone's home.
The menu is small but should have an option for everyone. It's BYOB.
We started with an order of fried fresh fish w/ an amazing horseradish sauce for the the table. Delicious! We also shared a small salad which was very fresh and the house dressing is lovely. I had the stuffed shrimp. They were cooked very nicely and the crab stuffing was tasty, if just a touch dry. The sides are the star here. I had the corn pudding and mashed potatoes. I also tasted the collard greens. All were really exceptional.
The food here is very fresh and made with passion. The service was very nice and the owner made sure to greet all the guests in a friendly way without being intrusive.
One of the most pleasant aspects of our meal was the music. They have large TVs in the dining room and they play jazz. Real jazz. They have black and white recordings of Ella, Dizzy Gillespie, etc. Wonderful!
My only negatives about the place would be that they have no daily specials, no website and it's only open on Th, F, Sat.
We had a very nice time here and will return. So glad this is now an option in York.
You can tell that a lot of care and pride was put into this new restaurant. Â Everything is immaculate. Â The food was fresh and fantastic. Â The service was excellent, from the hostess to the waiter to the chef (and owner) who came out to meet us. Â I'm looking forward to visiting them again!
It's BYOB so stop next door at Granfalloons for a 6 pack of your choice.
