This is what Yelping is all about: The hidden gems that make our over-commercialized existences more unique and fun. What a find in tiny Crawfordsville that Arthur's turned out to be! The place is the size of a chicken nugget, but they maximize the space with a multi-level layout. I chose to eat overlooking the place and it was such a great view of the cute old building. The restaurant serves standard breakfast and lunch, and I wanted an omelet and they had several standard to choose from. Nothing fancy here, but made just the way an old school diner from the 40's would. Food was piping hot and delicious and ridiculously cheap. $4.30 for an great omelet and full belly? Unbeatable.
I thank Kami L for Yelping this Crawfordsville find!
Arthur's Cafe is a very quaint, cute little place tucked away on Main Steet. Â It's what would have been referred to as a "coffee shop" in the days before Starbucks. Â It serves simple, fresh, well prepared sandwiches, salads, soups, and breakfast. Â The chili I got was extremely tasty, and the turkey club was served on lightly toasted bread, and had the perfect amount of turkey and mayo. Â The bacon was crisp and tasted great. Â
They also have a small Mexican section of the menu that I haven't tried. Â The service was friendly and very fast, and they have outdoor dining. Â They have just added dinner hours a few days a week but I haven't seen the menu for that yet. Â Also, they have a large dessert menu featuring homemade chocolate chip cookies! Â
The only downside is that the bathroom is the size of the broom closet.
