a friend that works in the area introduced me to this place. only worth it to go on weekdays.. their special: spend minimum $50 and get 3 hours of nrb. i think thats the best deal out in flushing. the rooms itself is pretty crappy though; sound system can make you feel (or maybe even go??) deaf, couches & floors are on the grimey side, the setup isnt all that smart either.. but nobody really cares when they're feeling the alcohol.. this is the spot we fallback on when other bars have no parking & all we wanna do is get buzzed munch out on bbwings & sing
on the flipside, the main floor is really nice to chill at.. and to wait for a room.
i'm surprised b3's even on yelp and the other bars aren't!
Nifty little spot to grab a drink near Northern Blvd... that is if they actually have the chosen drink available. Â The sign outside says "Beer & Chicken" and looks pretty ghetto. Â The inside, however, is modern with red acrylic tables, white chairs, and subdued lighting. It would be nicer without the World Poker Tournament being shown on the multiple TVs... looks like an attempt at being a sports bar.
After glancing at their cocktail menu I ordered a French martini, the waitress came back to say they actually don't have that. Â Episode repeats itself three more times until I finally give up and just get a vodka pineapple drink. Â
The chicken comes in different varieties such as classic virgin olive oil and spicy. Â Reminds me a little of Bon Chon chicken. Â It's very average- not much to complain about nor rave about. I also enjoyed the avocado crab salad except there was almost no crab. Â I tried ordering waffle fries which they were out of and then the macaroni cheese until I was finally informed that none of the side dishes were available. Â Settled on the okonomiyaki which was very generously portioned- a huge plate big enough for 3 people to share. Â Like the chicken, it was average and there's not much to say about it. Â
I'm pretty sure I was the only non-Korean in the spot and I felt several members of the staff eyeing me- not sure if they were admiring, condescending, or just curious. Â
This place desperately needs a menu update (they don't actually have half the things on it). Â I would recommend for someone who finds themselves on Northern Blvd. Â but not worth trekking out of the way for.
Karaoke place in Flushing which is not an easy task to get to however once you are here, the choices are fantastic.
I can't quite comment on the food but what I did have was really tasty. Â An appetizer w/ squid, shrimp, veggies in a kimchi fashion, I don't know the name of the dish but it was really spicy which makes me tear in joyousness. Â
This place imo has two big offerings: Â Karaoke and Libations.
There are a number of rooms which you can karaoke with friends or solo (perhaps that's why the windows are covered, oh my;) Â On my way back to one of the (open windowed) rooms, I heard many melodic sounds coming from different sections of the downstairs. Â I heard a live tambourine clammering around the corner and also a vivacious group singing indian tunes. Â
Libations, a term near and dear to my heart. Â The owner who also specializes in interior decorating has a marvelous mixologist on staff. Â B3 has a plenty of korean wines and distilled rice beer, two that I tried would be ox wine (made by the owner, a malbec wine, sweeter and heavy in the tannins). Â The soju was cleaner and more in the same line as a grappa but not as alcoholic. Â Bokbunja was very very very tasty, a raspberry liqueur and could be mixed with anything from seltzer, wine, tea to ice cream or just neat. Â Lovely. Â I tried a fantastic and innovative concoction which they prepared with korean yogurt with a top note of different liqueurs and flavors. Â I had the apple and it's a very nice sipper.
