Definitely been to better karaoke places. No service and microphone was a mess all while playing a limited selection with japanese movies that hand nothing to do with the song on the big screen.

i'm guessing they changed owners recently, since they now have flat screen TVs and have switched to the ziller karaoke system. they even give you microphone covers now! nice, updated music videos too, i was getting tired of watching those depressing korean music videos where somebody dies while trying to sing the most upbeat song out there.

the only downside to this place is that you need to come here with someone who knows korean, if you don't know korean yourself. the remote is in korean, and even the girl up in the front knew only korean. while waiting for my room, she had to call another worker over because someone who called only knew english. their korean song collection is A+, and while looking through the song book, they even had indonesian songs. their english is pretty all right, they update a few every month, but don't get your hopes up too high. they have a little fridge where you can buy wine and korean beer. no food in sight, though.

one thing that bothered me though is that they changed the pricing. instead of paying $10 a person every hour, now they just charge you $30 an hour for the whole room. great if you're with a huge group, but not great if it's just two people. other than that, star is pretty awesome.

There are many rooms that can accomodate various size parties, whether it's from just a few friends, to a whole group of people, Star will have a good sized room for you. Some of the rooms will have tamberines and disco lights (woOOooOo) ;P You have control over the light control, so you may make the "atmosphere" as dark or as light as you want it.

The remote is in ALL Korean, so if you are an English speaker, it might be a little difficult to use the remote. It is kind of self explanitory to input the songs, but it still took my friends and I a few minutes to figure it out.

The English song selection has NOT been updated recently, but they do have their fair share of old songs which your friends can rock out to. Some of these include: "Half Way There" "Milkshake" and of course, your classic Journey songs. Their Asian song selection however far superceeds their English song selection.

I'm not sure if you can bring your own food/drink :( They do sell expensive beverages though (non-alcoholic I THINK!) - not sure.
