b bar is good for what it is:
1) place to take a little break while gambling in the borgata
2) place to sit down and smoke if you want to
3) nice pre game spot before going to murmur or mix
4) loungey drink night spot
i came here to drink a little bit before going to a club on a friday night. Â for all intensive purposes this place was a great typical lounge with super service and interesting drinks. Â there is nothing wrong with b bar at all yet nothing super interesting that warrants 5 stars.
We grabbed a couple drinks here before heading to the club. The place is chill and nice. No obnoxious people. I didn't try the food but would guess it's typical bar food executed in a cleaner way. It's a perfect place to get your evening going to hitting the loud scene. The crowd really seems to change a lot.
Review Source:Located in the Borgata in Atlantic City, the B Bar is the perfect way to get an evening of fun under way. Look for it in the center of the casino between the table games and the slots. Like a typical lounge, it serves those who are not playing games and serves as a launching pad for the night to come. One of the coolest aspects of the place is that the clientele changes about every half hour. So while you are having cocktails, you have a constant influx of new people. At the bar there are video slots to play and wide screen tvs to catch up on the sports action. The bar has adequate staffing and you never have to wait long for service. There is cocktail service around the rest of the lounge where you'll find comfortable seating in groupings for your group to relax. Couches and various pub tables surround the large, centrally located bar. All in all, it's a great place to meet your party and begin your fun-filled evening in the Borgata.
Review Source:Being over the age of 30, I prefer lounges over clubs. I just want to sit on a couch, have drinks brought to me, and listen to music or have a conversation (I'll leave the waiting in line, standing/dancing with hundreds of sweaty people, fighting to get a bartender's attention, bottle service, and ear splitting volume to the 20-somethings). Â B Bar was a chill spot that hit all of my criteria (they even have flat screens if people watching gets boring). Â It's located in the middle of the casino floor and my only negative is you have to leave the bar area to find a restroom.
Review Source:B Bar is located smack dab in the middle of the Borgata casino floor. And like the hotel itself, it is modern, upscale, lounge-y, and sure to hit a certain, self-imposed douche / douchette quota night after night. For Atlantic City, the drink prices are pretty reasonable. There's a decent mix of house and hip hop that proves more atmospheric than dance-worthy. Ashtrays remind patrons this is a safe haven for smokers. And when the desert expanse of tables and slot machines gets too hot, B Bar is a welcome in-house oasis.
That being said, this lounge should not be your exclusive reason to come to AC, in my opinion. This is very much casino purgatory (as if a casino wasn't purgatory-esque enough itself). If you're going to get all dolled up to go out drinking and dancing, you are wasting your time choosing B Bar as your nightlife destination. In this respect, B Bar is merely the airport gate for your eventual arrival at one of Borgata's clubs. Still, it should not be discredited for what it truly is, which is a solid pre-game spot.
The video poker interfaces at the bar are a nice touch if that's where you want to isolate yourself, but there's a whole casino floor full of slots where cocktail waitresses hand gamblers drinks for free. Plus, for those of us looking to drink at this lounge, these machines create a front-line barrier of patrons, making it difficult to just signal for a drink. If you can score one of the seated areas along the circular perimeter of B Bar, you'll fare much better with a server at your beck and call.
Every group that touches down in AC drags along a person or two who doesn't particularly like to gamble or party too hard. These people tend to find B Bar to be just the right speed. Personally, I prefer to pick up the pace a bit. Still, this place serves a purpose for most people - whether it's simply batting practice for yours truly, or full-on game-time for someone healthier, with a lifestyle devoid of such self-destructive vices. To each his own, I suppose...
Good lounge to chill and chat with your friends on a Saturday night if you don't feel like clubbing. Â Has the nightclub vibe with a relaxed atmosphere. Â Would be nice if they added some appetizers to order so you did not have to leave once you got hungry. Â Make sure the bouncer remembers your face on the way out to the restroom and so you don't have problems getting back in, I don't know why they don't just use stamps like every other place! Â Drink prices are a bit high, but expected in a casino. Â I gave it 3 stars because the bouncers there can be a**holes since they try to treat everyone like their some drunk guest, but once in, the servers and bartenders are friendly. Â The bathrooms are outside and getting back in can be a hassle if the dumb*** bouncer on the back entrance forgot who you are.
Review Source:If you're looking for flashing lights turn your butt around and head in the other direction to Mixx where the volume is always set at maximum loud and the douchebag level is always set at maximum Kanye West. B Bar is where you won't encounter any guys wearing sunglasses at night or obnoxiously loud chicks with Chinatown Prada bags.
Oh B Bar, you never let me down. I love how you're situated in just the right area not too far from the blackjack and just far enough away from the annoying crowd and cover charges. I love the long bench couches that run all along the perimeter of your bar with the soft, comfy chairs and tables across from you. Long windows give a bit of a view into AC outside (nothing spectacular, though) You can sit at the bar in front of the video poker machines but it isn't half as great as tucking into a nice corner for a few hours. Surprisingly, the drinks aren't outrageously priced and if you're here during the week it's very easy to land a spot in the seating area. It's always kept super dark in here with just the glows from the screens and a few recessed lighting fixtures.
The only pain in the ass thing is the restrooms are a bit of a hike away and you have to exit out into the casino interrupting your mellow flow but I can let that one go. Sadly, with the those real windows comes the realization that dawn is indeed breaking....and it's Tuesday......
Around 2pm on a Friday, my mom and I headed to B Bar for a drink (it was the only place in the Borgata that was serving alcohol that early, apparently). B Bar is set right in the middle of the casino floor. The chairs were comfortable but the bar was smoky, dark and loud, so we couldn't really talk. We were hoping to have a few snacks but they don't serve any sort of food. Also, it doesn't have any bathrooms- you have to leave and walk to the casino bathrooms nearby.
They had expensive drinks for the size (I ordered the $12 sangria and it was probably a cup or two of liquid, although it did taste good). My mom ordered white wine that had a lot of alcohol in it but simultaneously tasted like juice. Our bill came to $21.50.
Granted, maybe this place turns into a super cool bar at night, but for an afternoon cocktail, we weren't fans.
I love the location. Right in the middle of a the borgata. This was great since I was tired of gambling and the other clubs had steep covers. Some people were still playing some games inside but I just wanted to soak up the drinks and interesting strangers youll meet there. Also great spot to close out the night.
Review Source:Relaxed, sexy environment in the middle of the casino floor.
Reasonably priced drinks (!), comfy seating, sports on screens above the bar, and friendly servers. Peek out from behind the curtains that surround this circular space and check out the action at the surrounding tables. If you want to game this fine system further, see Mw S.'s review below and learn how to get free drinks.
B Bar is generally not too crowded, and the music volume allows normal conversation. What's not to love? It's definitely smoky.
This is where a large group of us met for a friend's 30th b-day. Â Pretty cool bar right in the middle of the Borgata. Â We were able to snag a nice sized couch and a bunch of chairs. Â We weren't supposed to spend a long time here, but we ended up staying for about 3+ hours which was totally fine by me. Â I am not a club guy, so I would much rather prefer a place like this to sit down and relax. Â
The music is loud enough where it makes conversation a little difficult but not impossible. Â The service is decent and the prices are not totally obnoxious. Â $6 for a beer and it was only about $8 bucks for shots. Â I believe drinks were $9.
There aren't any bathrooms in the bar, so you have to walk through the casino floor to get to one. Â A little annoying. Â
I kind of feel like this place is a nice compromise. Â It has a little bit of the trendy lounge vibe but also has TV's so you can catch the game, too. Â
Overall, a solid spot in the Borgata...
THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. This is my hideout/clubhouse/homebase whatever you wanna call it. Every time I bring someone new to the Borgata I tell them to do the following:
1. take out a twenty dollar bill
2. go to the B Bar.
3. get a seat.
4. put the twenty in the video poker machine.
5. hit the buttons and select games and maybe play once while the bartender takes your FREE drink order.
6. stay here as long as you want.
7. cash out and keep your 20$ voucher(keep it as close to 20$ as possible)..that your FREE DRINK voucher.
Rinse and repeat.
This is what i do all day, when I'm not at 'The Happy Place'.
At night it is a different story because this place does get very crowded.
B Bar is a total blast for everyone. And its open 24/7!!!!
Also, I tend to use B Bar as a meeting point because of its central location and kinda 360 entrance.
B Bar is my refuge when visiting the Borgata. Â I am not a big gambler and waiting in line for an hour (and paying $30.00) to get into mur. mur. is just not my thing. Â Â To me I equate B Bar to a life raft in an endless sea of cacophonous slot machines, black jack tables, and roulette wheels .
The plushy lushy couches and arm chairs are not to be missed. Â You feel like you are being enveloped by their luxuriousness. The lighting is dark ( a welcome change from the glittery gaming floor), the music is smooth and not overbearing, and the mood is sexy.
If you are looking to chill out and get away from the casino madness I highly recommend!
Two drawbacks: Â no restrooms (you have to exit to bar and walk through the casino) and smoking is allowed.
We decided to visit the Borgata after a great dinner at Angelo's Fairmount Tavern. Â I remember opening the Borgata back in 2003 and fondly remember the B Bar as a favorite hang out place.
So, we stopped by the B Bar for some drinks and to watch the end of the Flyers/Blackhawks Stanley Cup Final game.
The service was great, our glasses were never empty. Â I had a glass of Cabernet & my colleague was drinking Crown Royal Manhattans. Â After several drinks....I don't remember how many, we finally left and took a cab back to the Tropicana.
Will I return? Â Of course!
B-Bar is the best bar to hang out in, in all of AC. It has a huge video poker bar. You can sit at the bar and play video pokes while also enjoying the many hidden tv's directly above the bar. Also there is a huge lounge area where you can sit with friends and cocktail service. The best part is that you are right in the middle of the casino and there is no cover to get in. I find this place to be a great alternative (and i prefer it) to the clubs at the Borgata. The music here is great, they have a bunch of good mixes. After about 7pm they really crank up the music to get you ready for the night. Usually around 9pm they will set up bouncer at the entrance of the bar for the night time crowd.
Review Source:In my opinion, this is one of the best kept secrets of the Borgata. Â If you can snag yourself one of the seats at the bar (which are comfy) and play Video Draw Poker you are entitled to unlimited FREE drinks (of any kind) as long as you keep playing (and $20 can last you hours if you play slowly). Â HOWEVER, do not take advantage and give free drinks to other people or they will charge you. Â Also, make sure to get someone to save your seat if you need to head to the bathroom. Â B Bar is a great option for friends of gamblers who just want to drink in a hip bar and only spend a little bit at the casino. Â Just remember to tip your bartender at the end of your stay. Â Smoker friendly.
Review Source:Nice place to hand out while at the Borgata. We came here on a busy Saturday night and waited around 15 minutes to get a seat at the lounge. Upon being seated our waitress was ready to serve us our drinks which was pretty impressive given all of the other sofas was taken with big groups.
One good thing about being in the Borgata is majority of the hotel is smoke free except for the B Bar. Was was weird the couple sitting next to us was smoking and we did not get that much of smoke in our direction (I guess there is good ventilation).
Overall a cool place to pregame before the club.
They clearly have to keep it dark in here, not to set the mood, but so the old men creepers can drool over young flesh. Â Keep your hands on the bar pervs! Â
Does everyone on their 21st birthday come here? Â Hey if you want to take advantage of drunk chicks...pretty good spot. Â
Cigarettes. Â $11. Â No seriously, how much? Â That should get any sane person to quit smoking, but no this place is a fish bowl filled with smoke.
As good as it gets in Borgata.
Nice trendy lounge that plays predominantly deep house music, some hip hop, and you just can't escape it in AC but '90s music as well (here at least, they play the good throwbacks). Â
Enough places for your group to sit, lounge, and walk around if you choose.
The only minus is that the restroom isn't within the bar. You have to walk down the ramp and a short walk through the casino to use the casino restroom.
