Disgusting. Â I just returned with a tuna sandwich that I had eaten half of before I stopped dead, went to the kitchen window and had my fear confirmed - there was a quarter sized petri dish-like dark green mold on one end of it. Â I returned to get my money back, which they gladly gave me. Â But made an excuse that the girl who made my sandwich is supposed to check the bread before she uses it. Â CHECK for mold? Â Either the bread's expired or it's not. Â And this bread was clearly 7-10 days past expiration to get that kind of growth on it. Â I asked her if they check their expiration dates and she didn't respond. Â I'm so nauseas right now I want to throw up. Â My husband's hot sandwich was ice cold and my daughter's BLT was a mess with all the bacon dumped on one side. Â We had stopped coming here about a year ago even though it's the closest deli to our house (1/4 mile) because the sandwiches were just never that good. Â We now go to either Swan Deli or TJ's Hero Shop. Â All I can say is, we would not recommend this place to anyone but the Board of Health. Â Gross! Â Really. Â Petri dish gross.
Review Source:The people, the coffee, the egg sandwiches:) the bagels, the atmosphere (aka, the "vibe," or "scene") & the pricesnice:)) They are the BEST at Bayside. Always sad to have to leave the area knowing I can't get my Bayside Delicatessen fix!! Can you have crushes on people just cause of the food they serve?? :))
