I stopped in here to try their Gelato on one of the first heat waves of the year. Their gelato is made fresh daily -- and you can definitely taste the difference. Both the chocolate and chocolate chip flavors were delicious and I'm looking forward to returning for more throughout the summer.
Check out the courtyard next to the Cafe. Its a great place to sit and they sometimes have live music playing. You can also take a stroll down Bellport Lane to see some of the historic homes on your way to the marina.
Whaduhyawant? Pasta? Get your pasta here. This is the real deal, old world pasta with prosciutt' and cream... if you want it. Your won't find the four inch thick, dry, lasagna that is the customary restaurant offering. The lasagna arrives with a fresh, bright sauce, and the lightest of on site, made that morning, mozzarella. The gentleman who owns the business is the business. He is more than willing to make food that will keep you coming back. I eat gluten free, and  brought my own GF pasta which he promptly turned into the most delightful, plentiful, creamy dish. The menu is varied, low priced, ($13-15) and platter sized. You get a side salad and bread with that. There might be left overs if you can hold back.  Arrive hungry, come to sit and relax. Papa will take care of you. The restaurant is open seven days a week and offers breakfast to late dinners. Music (guitar) is offered some evenings-check the web site. When you walk in you will find a scattering of small, modern, glass topped,  tables that can be pulled together. Outside seating is on the side of the building where you will walk past tubs of flowers, inside a wrought iron gate to a sunny courtyard. Our waitress was eager to please and informative. She mentioned having left her past job, nearer to home, to work for the current owner and has never looked back. I suggest we make this a go to spot nestled in a lazy town with antique shops, a fine tailor, the corner deli, jewelry shops and more. A short walk down Bell Street, and you can rest on benches to view the sunset at the bay as sailboats bob in the water. If you happen to be in Bellport stop in for a refreshment and scan the menu while you rest. I loved this new restaurant, and I know you will as well. It is located in the former coffee shop location and off South Country Road.
