I dined at Public House 49 for the first time on Wednesday. I do have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first - seeing half painted walls and paper menus. However, by the end of the meal, I no longer had doubts. Â The food was excellent, with great size portions. And the Prix Fixe menu had a variety of selection. There were a few of us with my party and we ordered from both menus - and there certainly was no complaints. The service was outstanding and very attentive. I only noticed two servers for quite a large busy dining room, but they worked very well together, cleaning and paying attention to the tables. They were a great team. Our waiter had quite a personality and talked to us about the (undergoing) renovations and the newly expanded menu. He told us a bit about future plans with the restaurant. I do hope that all works out and that there is a celebration of sorts. I had walked by this restaurant so many times without ever stopping it, and I certainly won't be doing that again. It is a restaurant not to be missed and more people need to know! I will be back!
Review Source:Four stars for the service on Mother's Day. There was a female manager/owner (?) who was very courteous and friendly. She greeted us at the door with smiles and recommendations. They also gave the mom in the group a nice potted flower to take home and offered a free glass of mimosa or sangria to the ladies. Our group of four all had the burger and fries. They undercooked the burger so that it was almost rare (even the person who ordered well-done had a medium burger) but at least it was still juicy. The fries were a little too greasy for me but still pretty good.
