Patchogue Pub crawl stop # 2
I feel sorry for this place. Â You'd drive right by without knowing it was there unless you'd been there already and if you'd been there already, it was probably a visit to its previous incarnation, whose name escapes me. Â I think it was called "Filthy Coke Bar" or something.
Inside this place is big, too big to only have two people in it when my crawl companion and I arrived, but it was a clean place with a very respectable liquor selection, a decent beer menu for this side of town (two different styles of Sammy and B.P. Toasted) and a pretty young thing behind the bar who filled us in on the new ownership's desire to distance themselves from the reputation the place had.
Nice HD widescreen TVs pepper the joint, including a 55"er dead-center on the bar. Â Food is supplied by the Country Kitchen across the way, which isn't open very late at all. Â They also serve a pizza that I did not order, did not see, but will comment on anyway. . . it can't be good. Â If I lived in the area, I'd watch a game here, but I'd probably eat beforehand.
