Bella Pizzeria

My wife and I went to Bella Pizzeria on 96th street for the first time tonight. We eat out every weekend and I can say this was one of the worse experiences we have ever had.  

First, the customer service in the place was non existent. The guys behind the counter were so fixated on making the food you had to get their attention to place an order. I asked for an order of regular breadsticks and was given 2 instead of 4. I had to go back up to the counter and let them know I wasn't given a complete order of breadsticks. The guy threw 2 more on a plate and slid it over to me. No, Im sorry, thats our fault, nothing.  

Then, as my wife was eating her salad she discovers a DEAD FLY laying on top a leaf of lettuce. Of course this made her sick as she had eaten half the salad. I took the salad back up to the counter and told the manager we had a serious problem. He looks at the salad and says, "Oh, you have a fly in there". Then he takes the bowl and empties it in the trash, turns around and continues serve other people. He said nothing. No, "I am sorry", "what can we do to make you happy", "no charge for your meal", not a word! Its like if you go to Bella you should just expect bugs in your salad.  

We wont go back and I will tell everyone I know to never go to Bella. Its not like they are the only Pizza place on the north side. The help is rude, there is zero customer service, the food has bugs and they don't give a damn. I will be contacting the state department of health on Monday to make a report concerning the bugs in the food.

This place is pretty laid back on the weekends. I suppose they make their money during the M - F lunch crowd. The salad is really good. A specialty pizza is on my list of things to do. I recently moved to the vicinity and will be visiting more often especially since they serve Upland Brewery craft beer.

Pizza is good and the service totally went down 100 points. These clowns sold me a counter pizza warmed it up and told me it was fresh. A native ny'er knows what fresh pizza looks like. Over the years service has been awesome but today it gets a big fat zero...
