I go here quite a bit for lunch during work. The layout the first time around was a little confusing, but eventually I got the hang of it. It's moderately paced, and pretty delicious. I like that they have a lot of different options to change your meals around. You can have fruit or cup of soup instead of chips. You can get just a half order of a sandwich. You can get the full salad bar, which is incredibly fresh, and a bowl of soup. I'm addicted to a local drink they serve. Plus, you can get a free cone of ice cream for desert. It does tend to get super busy. I completely stay away from here on Sundays.
Review Source:I would recommend looking at the menu before you get here... especially the special menu's... (gluten free, vegetarian). Just because its on the menu online doesn't mean they have it in store.... so have a few back ups... HMM seems like an awful lot of work to order lunch!
I built my own sandwich. It was pretty good.... and got a side of the french onion soup. The soup was decent... a little too salty for my liking.
The salad bar looks pretty good, I will probably go for that next time.
Perhaps I came on the wrong day as this was one of the very few times I have requested a refund due to the food being inedible. Â
As a newbie I walked in with no sense of where to proceed. Very awkward layout. The atmosphere was similar to Dairy Queen, not Panera Bread or Starbucks. Â While the establishment only had 2 other customers, I was not assisted by one of the employees requiring me to ask where I ordered and the menu. Â A very ambitious woman informed me the menu was "over there." Â That was a little vague but non-the-less I made an attempt to find "over there." Â "On the wall," she corrected. Â So I looked on the wall. Â No menu. Â The paper menus were housed in a pocket on the side of the counter. Â Thank you ma'am for going the extra mile. (sarcasm intended)
I decided on the Nutty Mix salad. Â The description is natural, grilled chicken breast, organic field greens, grapes, feta, nuts, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, raisins, organic apples. Â I informed the server I had never been in Jason's before and inquired on the dressings and beverages offered. Â She said it was served with a balsamic vinaigrette and they had coke products and tea. Â Little did I know there was a beverage bar with many offerings of drinks and dressings. Â
I awaited my salad and discovered no WiFi; so much for working on my iPad while I had lunch. Â The salad arrived and immediately I was overwhelmed with the smell of stewed chicken. Â The salad was the most unappetizing melange I have ever been served. Â The field greens were thrown in a bowl, the a handful of cran-raisens, whole walnuts, grapes, clumps of feta, a quartered apple and huge chunks of hot, stewed chicken on the top. Â It was soup chicken, like you use in chicken noodle or with dumplings. Â
Honestly, I tried to eat it (a knife was required as no prep work had been executed in the kitchen area what-so-ever) but the smell turned my stomach. Â Yes, Jason's offers crushed or cubed ice. Â But that alone is not a reason to return. Â
The manager did give me a refund. It appears to me that Jason's gets mixed reviews - either it is good or horrible. Â Consistency is something the manager may want to work on.
