Miyagi Sushi Bar

We loved Miyagis. We've probably visited 6-7 times. Each time the service was fabulous and the atmosphere serene.

I've read some of the YELP reviews and would like to clarify a few things. No mayonaise is used in sushi. No tip is automatically added in for couples as applied in previous review.

The food is fresh. Some seafood is chewy because it is more muscular, such as squid.

This is not fast food, so it takes time to make it. Obviously, we have no complaints, and keep returning.

The food is delicious. Try the hot stone appetizer for fun too.

As a sushi lover I was very excited to go use the Groupon I purchased for this restaurant. After a very poor experience I can say with confidence that I will never go to this restaurant again.

We were seated in a timely fashion and the first impression was great. However when we got to our table we were in for a special treat.

There were gnats everywhere on the table and flying around our heads. When our food was served, one of our guests used the soy sauce in her rice. Not only did she get that soy sauce but a sprinkle of gnats as well to season her rice. DISGUSTING, talk about ruining your appetite.  

We might have been able to look past this had the waiter made it right. Instead she acted less than sorry and neglected to remove the rice from our bill. I also thought it would have been appropriate for a manager to come over and see what he could do for her considering the grossness of the situation. That did not happen either, we were served our bill and we paid and left.

Maybe we just had a poor experience but that one very poor experience has cost this restraunt any future business from me, my family or anyone else who asks me about this place.

I came here on a "friend date" last week, and it was great! The atmosphere is very modern japanese, clean and cool. The waitress was nice and attentive. We ordered oyster shooters as appetizers, not really knowing what to expect, and she helpfully guided us through the proper consumption process. Yum! Then I had a Sapporo and my girlfriend had raspberry flavored sake. Both were tasty and a decent value. We ordered 5 rolls of sushi to share, of which I tried 4: the California roll, the spicy California roll, the Miyagi roll, and the Temptation roll. They were all delicious, but my favorites were the spicy California and the Temptation. The prices were about what you'd expect of a sushi bar, not bad at all. And we had quite a bit leftover. Definitely some of the best sushi in Indy! I can't wait to go back!

The only complaint we had was that we had a voucher for $30. It was expired but still worth the $15 that we had paid for it. Even though it only acted as cash-paid, they wouldn't let us couple it with the 10%-off Yelp offer and seemed irritated that we would even ask. No biggie though; we still had a fabulous time!
