You know what's messed up?  I STILL supported this place because its a neighborhood restaurant regardless they take too long.  And now I'm reading the restaurant disrespecting me on my own HONEST review?  I tell you what....I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.  And I'll make sure no one on my block goes either. If I want to wait 45 minutes, I'll go to a real Italian restaurant in the area and trust me there are many more, all better.  Note to management, be mindful to how you respond to reviews.

I love a good rack of ribs.  Normally, I get my ribs from Smok N Q in Evergreen (or Hog Wild in Midlothian).  But they are closed on Monday so I thought I'd try Bellas, as I had seen it on the train many times.  I was encouraged by the menu and, upon arrival, thought the place looked really nice.  Clearly the guys running the place are trying hard.  But . . . the ribs were terrible.  A good smoked rib has that nice pink ring around the middle.  Succulent meat that falls off the bone, etc.  These were nowhere near anything I would call "good."  They were dark gray - no pink ring.  Cooked to within an inch of their lives.  And the fries were certainly microwaved.  Gross.  I really wish I would have loved this place, since I try hard to support Beverly businesses.  But this place really missed the mark.

Let's just say that good food doesn't make up for poor managment.  I was promised a gift certificate in the mail and never received it.  I'm not impressed with their un-kept promises.

Maybe it's just me, but even if a restaurant has the BEST food around, but the restaurant can't keep it's promises to it's patrons - how can you be trusted?

We're in Chicago - come on'... there's pizza EVERYWHERE.  A good way to stand out is to go the extra step to keep your patrons happy; customer service and satisfaction goes a LONG way.

    Should've kept your promises.

I'll add to this review after I see if I get a call from the manager as I was promised after tonight's meal. A mixed bag for sure.

Well I guess it's time to finish this up. She did call the next morning, and I have to admit I didn't call back, I just didn't think it was necessary since we decided that we weren't going to go back.

Very cute place on the outside, and a menu with many options. For now all I can say is if you go here, make sure you have plenty of time.

Ordering was painful, it took some time and a few times repeating it back and forth, we also said we were going to eat in, they packed the stuff up to go, so we unwrapped it. I ordered a bottled water, she forgot to give it to me, so I had to go get it, I worried that she would question if I  paid for it since she didn't give us a receipt.

At first we thought it was our communication skills, however the two other groups that came in had the same problem, it seems that the people right after had their order really screwed up.

The food, well it was okay. I actually was enjoying my food, and when the rest of my husband's order came up we noticed the cheese on the counter so I decided to put some on my food, as I'm shaking away I noticed dark, a little chunk of something, a closer look reveals that it has wings, ick a fly.

Okay, realistically that could happen anywhere, I pointed it out to her and what I expected to have happen here was for her offer to remake my food, or it would have been just as easy to make what I had left which was half a calzone, but instead she said that they'd give us a credit after I speak to the manager, which of course wasn't in.

As I said, this could have happened anywhere, it was the waiting to get it resolved the next day that bugged me (how ironic) I don't know if they don't trust their employees to make a judgment call on a remake of food or a credit, or whether they needed to watch the tape to make sure I didn't slip the fly into the cheese.

If the food were stupendous it might be worth dealing with, but since they're so many choices, I just didn't bother taking the time to follow up.
