I like Benny's Place. Not Love yet... but like.
Here's the skinny:
Cheap(ish) drinks
Reasonably clean.
Good staff and customers.
Kitchen closes at 9:00 PM
Here's the fat:
Drinks are legit and well priced to sell. $2 something for a bottle of Goose Island 312 beer. The Jäger bombs came in an ugly plastic cup (pic: http://bit.ly/ZZTfNJ ) but, they were tasty and not overly Jägery which is nice.
The bar top and tables are clean enough to satisfy the average patron however, they are not "Spotless". The Men's room could use some help, not TOO bad though. Oh, and the "novelty" vending machine in there was delightfully tacky.
The back patio is pretty neat in the summer, plenty of bar games there. Being in IL, there is no smoking inside the bar so there is a covered part which is essentially a shed with roll up door. Heated on occasion too.
The bartenders that we've had there are nice and easy to talk to. I actually went to High School with one of them(small world) and the customers are your average Joe's and Jane's for the most part. Everyone seems to get along even if you're the newcomer.
The kitchen closes at 9:00 PM which is unfortunate for me because I hear they've got some pretty good food. I've got to get there earlier some time to try it out.
Benny's is going to be a spot me and some buddies hit up once in a while for sure. Come check it out if you're near Lynwood.

Great pizza, good specials pretty much everyday. Â The bar it self has a tendancy to close early on most days of the week (11 or 12) and the bar tenders who kick everyone out so they can go another bar in the area. Â A decent amount of smaller sized tvs to watch sports on and quite a bit of seating in the bar and restaurant area.
