New Corner Bar & Grill

I've stopped for a drink at this local spot but never food before.  We had lunch and WOW!  My burger was awesome!!!  It had subtle mesquite seasoning and was cooked RARE - just like I asked.  The fries were crispy and plentiful.  The most expensive sandwich on the menu is $8.00.  A shrimp dinner runs $11.00.  Most of the appetizers are $4.00 but are (sigh) fried, fried, fried.  There is a small (3 sizes) pizza selection but about a dozen toppings.  They start at $8.00 for a small-12" cheese and ingredients start at .50 to $1.50.  I haven't had the pizza yet but have heard good reviews.

The  bar is very clean and has been recently remodeled.  The times I have been there it has been an older crowd and not obnoxiously loud like most places in the area.  The nonsmoking  because it is in Illinois makes a stop here all the more pleasurable.  

Food is served from 12pm to 10pm.

Moe and Sharon have owned several bars in the area (Widow McCleary's-Thornton, Pieatecs (sp)-Dolton).  They have really done a great job with New Corner.
