Wow I just scarfed down a big plate of Chicken Curry and Vegetables/Potatoes. I didn't think it was going to be that tasty but thanks to my office mates suggestion.
Lucky for me I had no preconceptions of it being the best restaurant in Springfield, so it didn't get overated from the start. It looks like that's the reason for some of the low ratings here. I find it quite decent eating option for downtown sightseers and workers.
I generally feel that people in Springfield either don't know or don't remember what a good food tastes like. One reason I say this is because people seem to rave about Bentoh (though not that much here on Yelp) and by my rather generous standards, this place is crap. I have eaten at Bentohs three times. The first, to try it out. The second because "they couldn't have been that bad, I must have been mistaken." And the third because a friend pushed it because Obama ate there. Each meal was subpar. I have had more original and tasty sushi from a supermarket pre-made counter. Better pad thai can be found a few blocks away at the Magic Kitchen, and the Blackened Chicken was just poorly made. Â Don't go to Bentohs, you can find better and less expensive meals in the cafeterias at St Johns or Memorial.
