I've visited this particular Biggby two times, spending upwards of three hours there each time. I'm not generally a big coffee fan, but I wanted a quiet place to do homework. There were three or four other customers in there each time, which seemed like a reasonable amount of business for weekday afternoons (I went on a Monday and a Wednesday). From the start, it was an excellent experience. The staff greeted me cheerfully, helped me pick out a good drink, and delivered it to me by the time I had paid. The employee that helped me, Brian, seemed incredibly knowledgeable about the products they offered and the drink I ended up getting, despite me being completely clueless about coffee, was delicious.
After that, I sat at a table, in a surprisingly comfortable seat, and typed up my homework. The environment stayed quiet, with the only disruption being the pleasant and quiet music playing in the background.
If you're looking for a good place to hang out in with good customer service and an excellent atmosphere, give this Biggby a try!
Recently (09/26/10), I headed to the drive through at this location to place an order for one hot Earl Gray tea. Â The clerk told me that the store was out. Â I then ordered an English breakfast tea instead. Â The clerk made some jokes, and then told me he was just kidding and that they had the Earl Gray tea to begin with. Â When I arrived at the window, the clerk asked if I still wanted vanilla in my tea. Â I never requested or mentioned vanilla.
Anyway, I gave my money and my frequent customer card (that had two beverage purchases on it from the day before) to the clerk. Â He did not return my frequent customer card. Â He did return a cup of tea that dripped all over me and the inside of my car.
On the day prior to the visit described above, I went to the same location. Â On that visit, I witnessed a younger female employee who appeared to be in charge act very unprofessionally with the other employees. Â I went into the store on that occasion (as opposed to going through the drive through) and witnessed firsthand the chaos going on with the drive through window. Â My service was poor and the employees were ill informed. Â The coffee dispenser of the flavor I wanted was empty.
This location appears to be in need of better management. Â I can recall visiting a BIGGBY four times in my life (twice at this location). Â My experiences have been less than stellar on three of those visits.
I did send an e-mail addressing my concerns to BIGGBY via their website. Â I was impressed that their Director of Operations replied directly to me. Â However, I was very surprised how he handled my complaint. Â He sent a reply to placate me, but ultimately disregarded me. Â In fact, I was not even offered a replacement frequent customer card.
That was my last trip to BIGGBY. Â It is a shame, too. Â I love coffee. Â However, there are so many places to get good coffee around, including in my kitchen via my Keurig, that I can live without them. Â Besides, I prefer freshly brewed coffee as opposed to coffee that has been sitting around in a giant carafe.
