Bismillah Restaurant

I come here very often, roughly once a week. I love Northern Indian/Pakistani food and this place always delivers. The lassi is fantastic, not too sweet. I especially enjoy the Chicken Boti, Chapli and Seekh kabobs. The naan is always great and make sure you try the Kheer. I notice a lot of the reviews criticize the service but I think they are fantastic, very helpful and patient. If they are about to close, call the order ahead, because if you get there at closing, they are happy to accommodate people who call ahead but aren't going to turn the grills back on 5 minutes after closing. As someone who has backpacked India, the food is just as authentic as what I ate in Delhi and Amritsar.

Tl;dr Must try for great N. Indian/Pakistani food!

Try their frontier chicken rice.. its better than the rest of the place on Devon. I would come back for the rice and seekh kabob... I would have given them five starts if they have the heat on.. It was so cold, imagine wearing your puffy jacket while eating..

we came to a crowded restaurant and ordered

naan - hands down the best in chicago because of the super crispy bottom
chicken - ok slightly dry
beef - really smokey

the restaurant got realy smokey during the meal and made our eyes really watery. i thought the meat was ok but the naan was a big as my face. love the little hole in the wall!
