Know your limitations, figure out what you do well, and keep doing it. Blinker (Jerry's Blinker was the name I believe) seems to have figured this out. And Mary J's review is wrong, there was plenty of liquor there. Food too, although we didn't eat. Pull tabs,  pool tables, some seriously irregular regulars and some super friendly people as well were all to be found at Jerry's Blinker Tavern.

My GPS seemed to think I needed to be here, because it led me to this place when I tried to go elsewhere, but since I  always just bloom where I'm planted, with the sign outside offering karaoke and a nearly empty bar, how could I refuse?

Me and my new ladyfriend went in and sidled up to the bar, god love her, she tried to ask the bartender for a Mojito. The friendly (but befuddled) man was unsure if he could make one, all the while I am frantically shaking my head and trying to convince her not to order it regardless. I said to her 'look around, don't ask this nice man to muddle anything' I had to tell him the main ingredient was fresh mint and he realized it was a no-go.

I thought I'd stick to the basics, he had on a Fireball t-shirt so I ordered a Fireball and ginger, 'Ginger what?' he asked. I knew we needed to stick to basics but wow... people in Kent don't order ginger ale I guess... then I told him what a 'Dirty Shirley' was for my ladyfriend and he made her one that she loved, and I admit that my F&G's were strong and cheap: two qualities I like in a ladyfriend, bartender and a cocktail.

The karaoke was interesting to say the least, the almost too smart-assed but certainly charming host was quick on the draw for everything but seemed to like to play some songs in between each singer and the rotation was confusing at best.

Still, if you find yourself in Kent, and you want to have some unexpected fun, stop by The Blinker, I promise you'll have some interesting stories to tell after and you might see me there, I have to admit I had a damn good time.

Cool dive bar - mostly for the mature folk. Just a good place to hang and have a beer and play a little pool.

One question, why is there a display case for darts stuff when there is no dart board?

It's a simple tavern. No liquor. Limited food.

The bartender...? maybe the owner? Not sure. He was very nice. Service was great!

Cash only or use the atm machine.

This is a neighboorhood tavern that's been here since 1965 filled with some very friendly patron's. Jerry the owner is the son of the founder and a likeable gentleman who has known most of his patron's since he was just a kid. Limited food or this place would have gotten 5 stars. Very Clean with a patio in the back. Popcorn machine and music on the jukebox AND NEGRO MODELO on tap! This place makes me smile when I walk in the door.
