Great sushi, good price, slow service! Been here twice and loved the Stop, Drop, & Roll, but the first time I used a Groupon and the waiter failed to take it off the price-had to dispute it on credit card. Went back again and had the same slow service. Workers are not too attentive and sometimes rude. However, it's worth going for the great sushi
Review Source:I need to make more visits to Blu Sesame -- yes, that's a "Blu" without an E. Â It's a casual stop for sushi and Asian fusion. Â Located downtown, it's both close to my office as well as places I like to visit in my spare time. Â Parking is fairly easy, with close street parking off Pershing, Elm, and Jefferson streets, or in the Wilhoit Plaza lot. Â The staff is friendly, and our server was very personable. Â I love that the menu is simply laid out on one large page.
I've only eaten here a handful of times, but everything I've tried off the menu has been delightful. Â The "Blu Sesame Nachos" are an absolute must! Â I've never tasted anything quite like it, decked out with sweet, spicy, and soy sauces, plus some fixins on top, including tuna. Â My husband really liked the miso soup; I thought it was okay, but would have been better if it had fewer green onions and more tofu. Â I enjoy their sushi rolls because they're flavorful; today we got the "Over the Rainbow" roll. Â If I had to complain, the roll kinda fell apart for both of us when we picked pieces up with the chopsticks, but that's why they included a fork in the silverware. Â
The chopsticks are metal and have a nice weight to them -- I felt both classy and clumsy trying to use them. Â The sushi portions tend to run on the small side, but the nachos are easily shareable and chicken plate I had the last time (if I remember right) made me plenty of leftovers for later.
It's not a high-class sushi joint, but I'm a huge fan. Â Already craving those nachos again just thinking about it...
Went here with my husband and son. We were seated pretty quick but sat between 2 couples. Not much privacy. Our waiter, Gunner was a lot of fun & seemed to really enjoy his job. We started with the pot stickers. Not my favorite. Maybe because they were fried. My husband had the panko crusted sea bass with Asian nachos. Exceptional & it was a ton of food for the $9.99 price tag! Â I had the start your night off sushi roll. It was fantastic! Loved the sweet chili glaze, that put it over the top! Our son had the dynamite roll. He really enjoyed it. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat! The only downside was sitting so close to your neighbor. We will definitely go back!
