About the only reason to go here is $1.25 beers on Monday. Â
The food is God awful and the service sucks. Â They get good music talent in here, but it's way, way too loud to be able to enjoy it. Â You can't talk to anyone you're with, and your ears will ring for two days after going here. Â I'd rather go to go Cadieux Cafe any day of the week.
Oh yeah, baby!! Blue Goose Inn...here I come. Haven't been there since 1960, before JFK beat Dick Nixon. My parents had a house on Mylls Street and that's where they would take us for fish. The fish was great! Is St. Gertrude's still  there? I'm stopping in next wednesday and will give a real review!
Review Source:Great for live music. Â Check out The Groove Council here. Fun!! Great mix of different ages groups, mostly older...but everyone is there for the show. Â Service was excellent, Cheryl our waitress never left us hanging. Â The only item on the menu I've tried is the pizza, and it was great.. A large for $10.99 is huge! Â Good times!
Review Source:The place seems to have loyal customers, everybody seems to know each other. The band playing was good, and put everybody to dance. The customers age average got to be between 35 and 45. Great place if you like 70s & 80s music.
We ordered a pizza, and it was really good. Service is not bad either, the waitresses are always passing by and doing their job.
If you're local it's worthwhile the visit.
I'm a fan of the double-decker hamburger, and Blue Goose used to have a really good one, The Big Blue. After dining here recently I cannot say that it stacks up well against other local places that serve them as well. Over-cooked, dry, tasteless. Not what I want.
It's a cool place, in a cool spot. I won't go there to eat however.
The food is crap. The place smells like an ashtray. The music is good, if your like 50 or older. Not a good place at all to go if you want a young crowd. Really, the vibe is old man-ish. They REALLY need some younger music mixed in, and they need to get rid of that bingo hall smell. Blah! Will NEVER return.
Review Source:This place has had a reputation as a great place to go for the blues. These days, you might get blues or you might not. Granted, the multi-piece soul/r&b bands are good quality, but are not blues. As for the food, it is really bad. I would expect standard bar fare here, but it doesn't even rate as that. I have yet to find anything on the menu that I would order again. I ordered pizza once and it was burned on the bottom. The regulars in the bar assured me that that is the norm. I ordered potato skins another time and it was like receiving hard coconut shells filled with melted cheese and bacon. I couldn't even scoop out any potato. If you want to go out for some good music and drinks, this place delivers. Make sure you eat before you go.
Review Source:MAN did this place go down hill FOOD wise, and kinda had a waitress that wanted NOTHING to do with us, but the food was sad, it pains me cause its the best location in the Shores, and I would love to take that menu over...the music is ALWAYS awesome and its a great place for a beer, except my dad ordered a Bud Light and it was out so the lady poured a Bud and she didn't know I was his son, and the waitress grabbed it after the bartender said "bud light up" LOL
I had em with 2 stars but I bumped it to 3 based on Music and nostalgic love
