Bar is in my area and my boyfriend wanted to watch football in a somewhat relaxed place because we just drove 3 hrs from upstate. Â Came here and saw their football specials at $3 buds thinking bud lights was considered under buds but it wasn't. Was charged $6 a beer which came out to $91. When I asked the waitress about this she simply said sorry it's Budweiser not bud lights. A good waitress in the beginning would have let us know the bud light special which we after found out was $10 a pitcher. Had we known we would have done that. When we asked about any buy backs she simply said oh that's only if ur at the bar... I will NEVER come back here again. I work at a bar/ restaurant and will always give customers the best deal possible but obviously she only cared about making money. Â Pffff their wings weren't even that good ....very disappointed.....beware of false advertising!!!
Review Source:Food has really gone down hill. Â Inedible French dip. Â Everything else was just ok, but not something I'd ever go back for. Â They use to have amazing boneless wings and traditional wings.
Reason for extra low rating is that they advertise on http://Restaurant.com. Â Saw it and decided to try it as I hadn't been there in years and it's right around the corner. Â First they said they don't take mobile certificates and to print it out and use next time. Â Annoying but ok. Â Next time I bring it printed and then they say it's tables only, not bar seating. Â Neither requirement was listed on the http://restaurant.com cert. Â Now I remember why I stopped using restaurant.con AND going to Brews Bros.
Bartender was nice but said he had to enforce the owners rules. Â Back to Croxleys for me.
Wings / Beer / Pub
Great little place on Franklin Ave that has, as everyone has mentioned, great wings, a good selection of beers and a fun pub atmosphere.
Really in search of something more along the lines of getting some food, I went here with a lovely young thing who was all about the French Onion soup -she wouldn't shut up about it so I had to give it a shot...
The place is decently sized and tricked out as a pub, complete with dartboard, but sadly, no pool table. Â The actual bar area was decently sized and there were plenty of tables throughout. Â The beer selection was good but not spectacular - to me a "brew house" should not include beers in bottles, unless that particular items does not come in kegs. Â The taps had some of the better suspects available, but also Miller Light and things of that nature.
Decent selection on the food menu and the food was as good as the hype. Â I actually managed to skip ordering the soup but tasted it from my cohort who ordered. Â I did get a burger because, well I do not usually eat burgers anymore... Â this thing was a work of art and came complete with a great pickle and perfectly done fries. Â $1.50 a topping is a bit on the high side in my opinion, but the options were decent - so maybe it is worth it.
There are wing specials available during the week and prices are average. Â Bartender was ok- not overly friendly, but not an ass either.
Parking on the street.
First off, I gotta tip my hat off to the friendly owner and staff. Second, the food is AWESOME and at a reasonable price. Third, they have a GREAT selection of beer and drinks, and the crowd is cool. Since I never had a negative moment being here with my wife and cousin, in my book, im giving this review a well deserved 5 star rating.
Review Source:We came here with a http://Restaurant.com gift certificate. We had no trouble using it. The waitress was super nice. Although she was super busy, she made sure we had everything we needed.
The food was meh. The spinach dip was not very good. The burger was ok. It was not worth the price. With a 25 dollar gift certificate, I could not believe how much we paid. They do have a good wing/beer special on football sundays. Also, I believe they had some kind of unlimited wing/beer special on Sundays for like 20 bucks. That's incredible, considering you could bring 3 or 4 of my friends and eat the place out of business.
On the plus side, if you are a beer drinker this is a great place to go. They have plenty of craft beers, some local.
Wings rock out in this place, and although i have never been here for the wing and beer specials, you really can't go wrong. Â 15, or 20 bucks depending on the time you show up after 7PM on a few days a week gets you ALL the wings you can eat and ALL the tap beer you can drink (domestic). Â Its a steal, literally. Â
I don't really head over here for anything other than the wings and beer, although have had a french onion soup which I was not crazy about (too many spices, which maybe I just never had so was expecting the usual sweet and savory French Onion I grew up on, who knows). Â
Definitely stop in for the wings and beer, you won't be disappointed.
I want to say untrue terrible things about Brews Brothers so it stays under the radar, but I simply enjoyed myself so much I can't speak ill. We almost didn't go in. Its proximity to Hofstra University and the sampling of patrons outside were a good ploy to keep this duo of grown-ups away but we persevered. I'm glad we did. Great draught and bottle beer selection, a bartender who was the right kind of friendly and helpful that is too rare, and a nice distribution of televisions that allowed us to watch the Knicks lose and the Yankees win simultaneously. I didn't eat but I've heard good things. Very happy to have found a "local" that is alive on Sunday evening. Even the kiddies loitering outside were good people after I suspended judgement. While it doesn't necessarily substitute for my favorite "real" beer bars (Rattle n Hum and Bronx Ale House) it's a fine addition, and I'm digging it.
Review Source:I went for happy hour with my brothers (siblings not African American people). They had a two for one special on draughts with a wide variety of beers which is always nice. I like that this place had a pub feel when you walk in. The food and service was both great. This is a good spot for happy hour, I ordered a burger and sweet potato fries to go along with a half dozen Stella's and left with my big boy pants on ready to face an drunken challenge. Fun Fact: Located next door to the hardware store where JWOW bought a door handle in an episode of Jersey Shore, just sayin'.
Review Source:I look for good beer and that can be hard to find in most Long Island local bars. This place has a pretty good mix between good 'ol beers (PBR on tap), and pretty good craft beers. I had a Stone Arrogant Bastard and a Harpoon IPA from a tap. There was a Purple Haze from Abita brewery, SmuttyNose IPA, Dogsih Head 60 minute IPA, Rogue Dead Guy and some others on tap, and a few bottles as well. Not a true craft beer snob's place, the bartenders were not interested in craft beer and I thik the beer list is pretty static, but way above average for LI.
The food and drinks are priced about right, not cheap except for some $3 mug specials, and the food was average to better bar fare. There is plenty of room for groups, about 10 -15 tables for 4-6, and the bar itself held about 20 people. There WAS a waitress serving the tables on Saturday night where there was a pretty lively but polite crowd.
I'll be heading back and have already brought others to the place.
Came here on a Sunday to enjoy some football and beer. They had a couple of beer specials $3 Budweiser Draft , Heineken Light and Coors light. They also had a Sunday football menu where everything on there was $5. I had a dozen buffalo wings. Not a bad deal. The wings were pretty good. I ordered them hot. They had plenty of meat on them and they had a nice kick to them. I also tried some of the regular fries and sweet potato fries. They were just as good. There were plenty of flat screens and they had 3 or more football games playing simultaneously. All in all, it was a fun experience. I'd definitely come back.
