I'd say this is an awesome place to go. Great food. We had a great server. She was very nice and funny. She was very attentive to us. She would check on us so often to make sure that we were doing ok. Food wasn't so bad. Def good. Great space for big groups. I love places that have lots of space b/c i always am around big groups. They got these comfy chairs to sit back and relax in. Also got a bar there for those who just want to hang there.
Review Source:Their cocktail menu? YES PLEASE. Â Try the moscow mule or the stawberry whiskey drink (forgot the name!) Â Both awesome! Â I'm thirsty just thinking about it..
Great patio, friendly/fast service. Â Pizza was just okay, kind of greasy for my taste but I will definitely go back just for the drinks/happy hour!
This is where we like to go to watch games frequently. The NBA playoffs have been no exception. First, soft pretzels are a cannot miss. Soft, warm with three dipping sauces. Oh, holy carbs! I love them! The burgers and sandwiches are good. I really enjoyed the tenderloin salad this last visit.
We love sitting in the recliner section with the flat screens. It's like having someone wait on you in your own living room. Score!
Staff is always friendly and does their best to keep drinks filled and get the food correct.
I love this place not only is it an awesome hang out but the happy hour is great!!! my boyfriend and I can have two appetizers and two drinks for under $20 during happy hour. The pretzels are to die for and they have a delicious menu to choose from. Our sender was great kida dorky but he was good. The atmosphere here is awesome if you just wanna come relax watch a game and have a drink with friends
Review Source:I went here a few months ago for lunch but have gotten a bit behind in my reviews.
We had tried to go for dinner, but did not make a reservation and the wait was over an hour so we decided to go elsewhere. But we were determined to try this place so we went back for lunch the following day.
The atmosphere is pretty cool. My boyfriend and I sat on the couches by the fireplace, it was very quaint. My only complaint was that I was a little far away from him -- and we are not a same side of the table kind of couple-- and I could not hear him very well.
We got the drunken pork meatball as an appetizer. They were very tasty but had trouble staying together. My boyfriend is a huge texture person and could not eat more than one because of that. He loved the jalapeño cornbread it came with though.
I forget what he got as his main dish -- but I think it was one of the sandwiches and he really enjoyed it. I got the meatball sliders and thought they were amazing!
We definitely want to go back again soon.
I was really surprised to see all of the "not so good" reviews for one of my favorite spots in Plano. Â Whether it's forbrunch with friends, Â business lunch, a date night with the significant other, or just catching up on some games this is one of the perfect spots in my opinion. Â I've been coming here since it opened and I've only had one issue that was fixed so quickly it wasn't even an issue... (if that makes sense!) We ordered a half tower of Abita (well because...it's the best!) and when I took my first sip it tasted stale. Â I asked my other dining partner to taste and tell me what she thought and she had the same opinion. Â Quickly after we notified the waitress, the manager was over asking what we would like to replace it with... within a few minutes, a new Blue Moon towear was brought to our table. Â I highly suggest the soft pretzels and calamari on the appetizer section. Â For the entree, don't judge me... but I can steer away from the Kobe brick pizza. Â It is AH-MAZING! Anyways... I have always had great service here.... not sure where these people are getting "good luck being served being a female".
Review Source:Fabulous place! Â Great drink selection, very yummy food, reasonable prices and a cool atmosphere. Â Highly recommend this joint! Â We had the chicken and waffles and they were HUGE, enough for 2 people. Â They did slightly burn the waffle so if you order it you might mention to them to make a softer waffle. Â The potato soup was so yummy! Â Definitely will go back!
Warning, we had to wait over an hour for our table so be prepared for crowds. Â But good things are worth waiting for!
For what it is- it's alright. I like a good chicken pot pie and they did it pretty well. The place fills up....mainly with men, but the tight low cut blouses ensures that, I guess. For a Breastraunt, they did it right- Tastefully, without being over the top.
I'll go back for lunch with the buddies- but it isn't a place I will take the wife and kids. Not because it's raunchy or anything, it's just not that good on the whole for a family.
So, this place has 3 1/5 star average. Â I think it should be a solid 4 and I wish I had another half star to add (not quite a five star place, but 4 1/5 would do nicely.)
Very cool place with a cool feel, cool seating, plenty of TVs, lots of beer and liquor options and very different and inventive menu.
Greeter and waitstaff were very nice and attentive. Â No complaints there at all. Â We had dinner salads and the pretzels for appetizers. Â The salads were very good and the pretzels were simply amazing... piping hot and obviously freshly made with three different dipping sauces, all served in a unique presentation (there are plenty of pictures to see that.) Â We would go back just for them.
For entrees we had the club sandwich and chicken and waffles. Â My club sandwich was by far the most disappointing part of the meal. Â Very dry bread and dry turkey although the included fries were very good.
My wife's chicken and waffles was enough for two and was (here's that word again) amazing. Â Not fancy, just plain good.
We will be back and try other interesting items on their menu. Â I really liked this place... you will too.
Place has changed since opening - seems the waitresses are a little more covered - but that could be due to the weather, or just the Plano crowd.
Food seems to be better too - though no meatloaf available for lunch - "it's not ready", my reply "it's 12:30 why not?"
Beer on tap is ~ 30 items - too bad the local distributor likely picked out a less than steller line up - just ZERO imagination. Â Why not try to make you everyday "Miller/Bud" drinker try something better - or at least give them an option on tap.
Most food in the $12-15 range - so not cheap, but it was tasty.
I've been to this place a couple times before, but it was Champions League time and figured, "this place is good. Â I'll go sit on their porch with my Dad and dog." Â So we go there and have a seat, on the porch--just us three. Â 5 minutes.... 10 minutes.... 12 minutes go by.... Â Nada. Â Not so much as a "Hi" or anything. Â Made eye contact with the bartender inside and zilch. Â I figured I'd go up and see if we could order something. Â She states, "We used to be dog-friendly, but we're not anymore." Â Me: "so is that why we weren't being waited on?" Â Replies: Â "I didn't even see you over there (makes eye contact with a friend walking by and waves)." Â Me: Â "you didn't see me in my Orange sweatshirt or hear my dog?" Â Bartender: Â "Nope." Â
I won't be coming here again. Â oh, and just FYI they're not PEOPLE FRIENDLY EITHER, unless you're a 60-something male sitting at the bar...then they're all over you.
This review is for dinner only - not drinks. It's a really cute set-up, and we ended up sitting next to the fire on these couches. The couches were too short for the tables, so I ended up having to perch myself up to eat. My chest was literally table-height. That's not okay.
Now for the food. I'm a vegetarian, but my friends wanted to go here, so I asked for the mac and cheese with no bacon. It came out (given to us by another server, so I couldn't ask my original server if she had remembered no bacon), and my friends and I inspected it. Had bacon in it.
Our server was all around the place, but never accessible to us. Usually, servers are supposed to ask you how the food is a little bit after you get it, but she never came around. We ended up having to flag her down.
I told her the issue, and she got me a new one. She called me "dear" in the process. That was annoying - she couldn't have been more than 20, and I'm very much not 20. But anyway...
The mac and cheese was good. It had a crunchy top layer which was delicious. The actual sauce was some sort of chipotle thing. It was too spicy for me, but that didn't make the dish inedible. Of course, I was scarfing down my food by now because all my friends had finished theirs, so I didn't really care what it tasted like. I was starving.
I wouldn't come back here. The set up is nice, food's okay, but if I can't trust my server to get my order right, I don't want to be here. Also, I took a look at the cocktail menu, and they didn't have anything too interesting.
So this is another one of those concepts like Hooters or Twin Peaks, except with a much better beer selection. It's very much catered to "dudes and bros."
If you're going there to have a few beers with some friends, it's great. Especially since they serve "beer bongs" that they bring to your table; this way you don't really have to wait on anyone to refill your glass.
However, if you're going there to eat, then Godspeed to you. My wife and I gave that place a few chances, especially since a close friend of mine was dating someone that worked there. She constantly encouraged us to eat there. The first time I ate there, it was like I was speaking Greek to my server. Â Everything I ordered came out wrong, but I just went with it. Then another time, I went there with my wife's coworkers for dinner and drinks. The server not only spilled beer all over the table, but also spilled beer on one of the phones on the table. When we got that all cleaned up, we then ordered food. I ordered the Drunken Pork Chops, which I had a good experience with before. The pork chops came out uncooked in the middle, so I sent them back. After about 20 minutes, I asked the server if they were re-doing them, to which she said that I specified I didn't want them re-done. At this point, I just gave up and didn't want to make a big deal in front of my wife's coworkers.
Again, great place to go if you just want to watch a game and have a couple of drinks with some buddies. Just make sure you grab a bite to eat elsewhere first.
I really enjoyed the set up. They had a nice patio area with a fire place, and the inside was nice as well. The Brick House has a very laid back comfortable feeling with couches at the tables, and a huge fire place running along the back wall.
Food:I had the Classic Meatball, overall it was pretty good. They used spicy marinara sauce, so that was a big negative for me, but the quality was really good.
Drinks: There mixed drinks are pretty bad. It could have just been the bartender pouring them, but i would not recommend the mixed drink section on there menu. Luckily there is a large selection of beers and wines that make up for it.
Service: Our waitress was really nice and very good at what she does. I'd give her a 9/10
This place looks to be a really good happy hour kind of hangout, although there happy hour is only from 3 to 6.
I have been here several times & have yet to be disappointed in their food and/or beer. And 9.8 times out of 10 the service is great too. Food to make sure you try: Fried, stuffed olives, deviled eggs, soft pretzel, fish and chips, garlic parm tots (A HUGE MUST), chicken & waffles (note the portion can feed 2), cheeseburger and any of the pizzas. I love this place...can you tell?
Review Source:We ate here on Friday night- the parking lot was packed so we figured there would be a wait but surprisingly enough the inside was pretty sparse and there was still room for us to sit on the patio. Â At first glance this places wants to be a sports bar and a foodie type restaurant- my advice- pick one or the other. Â It was so miserably loud inside but luckily the patio is very nice and it was a beautiful evening. Â
We started with the white and blue chips which were homemade potato chips with blue chips and white queso- they were very good. Â I had the house cheeseburger and tater tots (the waitress assured me they had the BEST tater tots). Â The burger was good- not the best burger I have ever had but it was cooked to order- it is served on an oval shaped bun rather than a round bun which i kind of liked as it made the burger easier to manage. Â The tater tots were a disappointment- I think the ones at Sonic are better- they were clearly just frozen tater tots-nothing special. Â My friend had the chicken fried steak- it was ok- there are many many better places to have chicken fried steak. Â It came with sausage gravy which on its own was good but I didn't think it went very well with the steak. Â The cheddar mashed potatoes were ok-nothing spectacular there either. Â
Overall the meal was ok- the beer was cold and they have a ton of  choices, the service was ok-not terrible but not great either and the food was ok.  We will probably go back eventually and try some other things on the menu but this won't ever be a "go-to" place for us.
It's very strange to go in this building and it not be a Bennigan's anymore, probably why I waited so long to go. Well, that and I heard the waitresses were like Hooter's and I did feel like dealing with stupid.
So I finally went with my cousin on a Saturday afternoon, and have been back twice since. There are only two things that I get on the menu, because I like them so much: the pretzel and slider appetizers. These are some of the best pretzels I have ever had, and I absolutely love the caramelized onions on the sliders. Drinks are reasonably priced, and my dining partners really liked their entrees on both locations. The servers are definitely smarter than at Hooters!
The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that it has more of a warehouse atmosphere and can get very loud for me.
My visit started off well when I took advantage of a small corner spot right by the front door designated for motorcycle parking. While the "tavern and tap" inclusion indicate a focus primarily on beer and libations, their menu was also created to pair well with beer: Cheese boards, deviled eggs, olives, mac and cheese gourmet burgers and pizzas, and other hearty comfort foods. I loved the olives, but the chicken and waffles was a bit blasé. Just a belgian with some chicken strips and some cold syrup on the side. Very un-inspired rendition of a dish whose novelty has worn off. Brick House already tricked up the burgers and pizza by including Kobe beef options, so I know they have some creative license, but it's like their creativity stopped after paring just a chicken strip and waffle. The Gold Standard for Chicken-and-Waffles are Victor Tangos and Cadillac Ranch in Las Colinas, so Brick House needs to up their game and do something to that dish.
*Not sure why Brick House is tagged in the Sports Bar category. It's not. Just because it has a couple of TVs doesn't make it a "sports bar." I'm sick of Sports Bars. Talk about a played-out genre.
Failed to impress. Burger over cooked. I asked for medium and it came out well done.
I literally took two bites and didn't finish the rest. Â Even the roll they serve it on (the patties are BRICK or rectangle shaped.)
I was intrigued and ordered the Cajun Fries since no sweet potatoe ones and they were straight up cayenne peppered... Too much..i had a coughing fit.
We did order appetizer: The zucchini curls were good and quite a large basket-took alot to go.
On to the next burger place as my quest for the best in Texas continues...
We tried this place a couple years ago just before we moved to Houston and had lunch there today now that we've moved back. It was good then and it's still good now.
My fav was the giant chocolate cupcake.
They've recently added a kids menu but I wouldn't recommend it for babies, maybe toddlers and older for lunch but not for dinner. The loud music makes kid noise not so obvious so they kinda blend.
The couch / tables are comfy although I felt like I needed a booster seat when I sat down.
The staff was friendly and attentive, big thumbs up!
This place is overpriced for what they serve. My 9$ bleu cheese burger was less than mediocre and I had to stop halfway because the bun got disgustingly soggy. My fault for eating too slow? Maybe. I suggest you eat yours like a famished Velosoraptor with no table manners who just got out prison.
Really really slow and bad service. I don't think my water glass was refilled one time. Our table got a full flight of Fireman's. If the beer doesn't come out ice cold on the first round, I feel for whoever has to finish the last.
Tv's all around made it easy to watch all the games that were on though.
Overall I do not want to come back ever. Should've gone to Chili's.
This place is not what you expect.
That said, let me tell you what I expected. I thought it was a "Hooters" knockoff and the food as well as the service would be comparable. I was totally wrong.
The inside is very nice and while there are TV's everywhere, you don't feel like you are in a loud sports bar. I love the combination of Sports bar feeling and family dining experience. The big comfy couches are a nice change from the traditional restaurant booth and make you feel right at home. Another bright point is the wait staff. They are always great and no matter how busy they are, you never feel neglected. Overall, the place is comfortable and the staff is welcoming.
The ambiance goes a long way to prepare you for the great food. The fare is a mix of "American" standards and down home cooking. They have everything from chicken fried steak to chicken and waffles. I love their chicken fried steak, as a Texas girl I can honestly say it is one of the best I've ever had. Better than that is the "blue and White Chips", everyone needs to try this appetizer. I've had several of the menu items and I have yet to find one that I hated. Next to the food, the drink menu defies description. All I can say is, if they don't have it, you don't need it.
If you haven't been to Brick House Tavern + Tap, you shouldn't waste any time getting there as quickly as possible.
We went for lunch on a weekday. Â We sat on the patio, which was very nice. Â Food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Â Just your typical blandish bar and grill fare. Â My son didn't like his fish and chips too much. Â He thought the fish was kind of tough. Â
Service was alright for us. Â The couple next to us was having a hard time getting the waitress to close out their ticket, though. Â They were pretty upset. Â The waitstaff is all female, and it was a little like a Hooters -- won't say more here so as not to offend. Â She did a good job of refilling our drinks, and we didn't have to wait long to be served. Â Some customers were smoking outside the restaurant right next to the patio, which ruined the atmosphere -- literally and figuratively. Â That's about all I remember.
Nice little spot. Good beer. A bit pricey, guess its due to its upscale sport bar persona. Food is decent, could be better for the price they were charging, but still I did not feel ripped off. Service is a bit lacking though. The night a few friends and I were there. The place was a bit slow. The waitress barely checked on us. When I went to the rest room, I saw a group of them around the corner just chatting away.
One thing though, I think they would get more business if they had a DJ or a band on weekends. I mean they are open late (till 2AM according to the sign), but people thin out around 10:30 - 11:00. C'mon, this part of Plano needs a night spot. I know there is Shops at Legacy, but....
I've seen this place while driving around and my friend and I decided to try it out for lunch. Â This place has a fire pit outside and a big fireplace on the inside, which gives it a bit of a rustic feel. Â Their booths are more like big luxurious couches, so you feel like you're lounging at home while eating your meal - especially if you get a spot near the fireplace! (it was chilly that day, so it wasn't like we were sweating up a storm in there!)
This place has your typical American fare here (burgers, pizza, sandwiches, salads, soups, starters) but the menu is a bit more refined and adds something unique to each dish. I ordered their crab cake special which came with tartar sauce and shoe string potato strips. Â My friend got their U.S. Kobe Beef pizza (which means the Kobe beef REALLY ISN'T actual Japanese authentic Kobe beef - it could be any kind of beef, actually... weird huh?). Â The crab cakes were moist and I could see the meat - they didn't stay together very well, but it tasted great with the tartar sauce. Â I enjoyed the lightness of the shoes string potato as well! Very crunchy and thin! Â My friend enjoyed her pizza as well and had enough to take home. Â The portions were pretty large and the prices were reasonable. Â They also had an extensive beer menu and a pretty good happy hour for beers (not so much cocktails).
Our service was really good - our waitress took great care of us and made sure that we had everything we needed. Â I really enjoyed our visit here and would like to come back to try some off their new menu items!
I've been here twice. Once during the World Series I had dinner and drinks on the patio while watching the game. Great time! I don't remember too much about the place since I was so into the game (and drinks!), so this review is about a different time when I was there.
I had a great time here with my wife. We had a nice couch/table by the fire.
The first thing we ordered were Manhattans and boy were they terrible! Easily the worst Martini I've ever had, anywhere (it was even yellow). I barely made it through mine before we switched to their house cocktails which made up for it since they were all very good. Â I think we had one of each of their cocktails and enjoyed them all.
For appetizers, we ordered the Deviled Eggs and Soft Pretzels - both delicious! Especially the Deviled Eggs. They add Jalapeno to them for kick.
We decided to order Fried Chicken Salads for our entree. The waitress asked if we were sharing one and one opted to have our own. Woops! The salads are big enough to share so we'll do that next time.
Service - 5
Food - 5
Cocktails - 3 (don't stray from their drink menu!)
Style - 4
This is a fun place and I will be back.
Came here after a disappointing experience at Whiskey Cake, just trying to find a chill spot to hang out and have a few drinks. What a cool place! I know its been here for a while now, but I've never had a chance to come in. I'm so glad I did.
My best friend and I were trying to find somewhere to meet and catch up on a Sunday night. Brick House delivered. Our server was prompt, professional and very sweet. She was attentative but not overly attentative and seemed to show up at the perfect time. We only ordered one drink each but it took us over an hour to finish them because we were having such a great time talking and people watching! Our server never once was pushy or irritated that we werent racking up a larger tab.
We sat in the recliners with the personal flatscreens. Got a huge kick out of that! I'll definitely be back here to catch a Mavs game with my friends. Totally impressed when I was not really expecting to be. Keep up the good work, Brick House!
It is true that the wait staff could be better but the food is pretty good and the beers are fresh enough. Not a fan of the beers they brew but the ones on tap are fine. Cocktails are hit or miss-- one visit, the bartender mixed my gin and cranberry drink well... the second time, my cosmopolitan tasted like an amateur (at best) made it.
They do have a good set up. The decor is nice, multiple TVs placed well and a medium-sized patio that has bar access and heat in the winter.
