I have been here quite a few times. I stop in while visiting my parents who live in Michigan, and the general area. Maybe I'm just spoiled because I've been fortunate enough to live in places with happy people and awesome restaurants over the past few years, but Brio is pretty dismal to me. The food is always okay-ish. The service in the dining room is generally polite and adequate, and the restaurant itself is nice.

I generally sit at the bar though, and have repeatedly experienced absolutely lazy, crass, inattentive service. The bartenders and waiters with nothing to do are always congregating at the bar complaining, one upping each other, telling dirty jokes and talking negatively about the customers. I worked in restaurants for almost a decade, so I get it, but I still feel that treating the customers that you have with contempt in front of other customers that you have and are actively ignoring shows a lack of tact, and in my opinion indicates that management and the establishment are not interested in customer service. Allowing for a negative and lazy staff atmosphere, and holding your  bar staff to different, lower standards than your wait staff doesn't give me a good feeling about a business. And frankly, if you're charging absorbident prices for average food, then you should make up for that by having some respect for your customers.

I guess that culture works here though, as they seem to do pretty well all in all.  And if you don't mind dropping too much money for quasi Italian food at a chain restaurant with an attitude, this isn't the worst one you could pick.

I'll still stop in every now and then, because they have Carpaccio, which I like, but I wouldn't order anything else here.

Plus, it makes me even more thankful that I live somewhere with so many choices, and a service industry that takes some pride in their service. I wouldn't recommend Brio by any means, but you could do worse, too.

For an Italian restaurant this place has WAY more gluten-free friendly options than I've ever seen! Oh, and they aren't lacking in size either! If I hadn't gone in starved I wouldn't have been able to slurp up my entire plate. The price per dish is a bit higher than I usually spend on chain food, but the quality is far higher than say Red Robin or Olive Garden. Service was attentive and friendly, too, which is a definitely plus. If I ever come across another Brio I might just be inclined to splurge again (my wallet and my stomach!).

Great location! The inside is stunningly beautiful and a great ambiance to eat, the service was friendly and fast.  I still prefer the Olive Garden over Brio, but Brio offers a high scale Italian dining experience. The bread is good, I had the Lasgna which was solid and the Cheesecake was impressively decorated and presented but the core was a little plain and bland.  Overall we would return and recommend this place if you have not tried it!
