Good fish tacos and Absolut specials, and I think I was undercharged, after spending about two hours sitting at the bar on a Saturday evening reading a ghastly pretentious book by Alice B. Toklas that I somehow felt I had to finish. Â The bartender was pleasant and efficient and gave me an informative answer to my question about a rival establishment (Is the Serbian nightclub with the paintings on the walls still around?). Â The other customers, all guys, were absorbed in a friendly conversation about the game, which was on the TV and not overly loud. Â I figure any sports bar that lets you sit there forever reading a funky old hardback by a howling elitist and doesn't give you grief about it is a winner . . . It's a good stop after grocery shopping at the Moroccan market just north of it or plowing through the stuff at the Village Thrift just south of it. Â Mellow.
Review Source:This is a fantastic neighborhood bar with good bar/pub food, Â nice seasonal beer offerings, and the friendliest staff. After going in once, the next time I went in the bartender remembered my name. That's pretty cool. Â It's also great to find a Sox bar on the north side. Prices are on point if not inexpensive. I'm really pretty much in love with this place and have a feeling I'll be going back regularly.
