Brubakers Pub - In The Valley

My crew consisted of three on New Years, three soldiers, of many many New Years, out to put the boot-to-ass of yet another decade.

Brubakers handled the job very well. I think this is one of the newer versions of the ubiquitous Brubakers chain, which can be fine as long as the people staffing it are cool.

Our third spot of the eve, we walked in to a relatively clean establishment with a gigantic bar that swerves and curves all over the place, creating good conversation angles. They have a general pub menu, of which we didn't partake...but, we did notice that they served bowls of Lucky Charms for I believe $3. That was pretty hilarious.

The taps delivered fresh brews with good heads; the place was hopping with a good energy.

I'm fairly impressed with how Liberty Commons has weathered the storms, having reinvented itself with new businesses time and again. It's nice because you can get a good mixed crowd in here, which makes for great conversation possibilities.

On another night, I may have asked our bartender to marry me.

The jukebox was infested with country music fans with quarters, but that's not entirely Brubaker's fault. I'll give them a pass for that. I handled the situation peacefully, by popping in a fiver and gracing the patrons with The Police, The Smiths, some David Bowie and a bit of Heart.

They were eternally grateful.

A great spot. Would definitely hang there again.
