You should only be going here if you enjoy sports, or just want to go sit down with friends and have a few drinks. The food should not lure yo in here. .
The food seems like they have 10 fryers and 10 microwaves. They do have a good mix of hot sauces to accommodate the food though.
The bar is really great. probably 30+ beers on tap.
I have had problems going there with a bum trying to ask for money outside the door which is also the smoking area. So you have to pass by the guy quite a few times if you are smoking.
All in all great drinking bar experience and they have 20 big screens to show any sporting event out there, but not what I would consider for even a average meal out with no alcohol.
Parking can be done either across the street, caddy corner over by the byram river behind the gas station, or at the shopright that is part fo the mall. The parking lot directly across the street can get tricky though, it isn't well designed and I think just became a lot by default after a building burned down and got demolished.
aside from my carpool of guys from Queens and Long Island, most of our office lives upstate, so this is one of the few possible "central" locations for the rare occasions we get together after work.
fairly standard bar food menu, but their claim to fame are their wing flavors. but it's kinda standard: you've got a few variants of hot and BBQ (yes, there is a "how hot are our wings" thermometer) plus some more "unique" ones. oh boy. since we went on Tuesday, it was 40-cent wings, so we made a point to sample a lot of the flavors. most of them were okay, the only real standouts were the mango habanero and the hot BBQ (dry rub variety). the problem with wings is that you have to eat a lot of them to fill up. on the plus side, you're not getting tiny pigeon wings like at some places.
beer list had some pretty good brews on hand; pleasant surprise. sadly I got stuck as designated driver, so I only had one beer early on and thus made it count...Rogue Dead Guy! a lot of German imports and American craft brews help to offset the bigger-name crappier beers like Budweiser and its ilk.
service was a little laggy at times. odd, because the place was pretty much empty aside from our group and a few people at the bar itself. also, they didn't tell us about any drink specials that night, which we found out after paying our bill. speaking of, it was a bit much for just having wings and beer - everyone kicked in about 15-25 bucks.
free wifi...but it's spotty. you'll have better luck logging on to the wifi from Applebee's next door. so I guess Applebee's is good for something!
music was a bit loud and overbearing for my tastes. same typical pop crap you hear everywhere else.
to be fair, I didn't expect much from a chain place in the suburbs; not a bad place but nothing outstanding. "meh" indeed!
I ate here consistently for several months and then had one experience that just made me not want to ever come back.
I was in there in the for NCAA Basketball games during the week of the Conference Championships. Â It was a saturday afternoon and there were only about 5 people in the place. Â I asked the server if they would turn on the sound to ANY game - I didn't care which game - I just wanted the horrible 80's music to be turned off so that the mood would be right for these Saturday afternoon Conference Championship games.
Instead of turning on the sound I received a bunch of corporate BS about how it's against company policy to turn on the sound for games because it could anger the other customers. Â This is of course ridiculous, because they put the sound on for Jets and Giants games all year long.
Oh well. Â I'll never come back.
Meh, definitely not one of the better B'dubs. Â
Slow service, not bad, but slow. Â Our server was nice and friendly, but didn't stop by very often and we waited on the bill for quite awhile. Â Also, it wasn't very busy at all, I'd say she probably had 1, maybe 2 other tables. Â
Mediocre food. Â Fried pickles were SUPER salty. Â Buffalo Ranch Chicken Wrap was not nearly as good as I usually get at this chain. Â Just had a weird flavor to it. Â Blah.
My margarita was delicious though, as they always are at B'dubs...dunno what it is, they are nothing special, but I love B'dubs margaritas. Â
Lots of TVs, but many of them were small, non HDs with messed up pictures. Â
I'm sure there is much better in the area.
For a BWW, this location is actually pretty cool if all the TVs are on. There's hardly ever a waiting line and they are rather prompt with the bar service if you sit close to the bar. Â I wouldn't come here wanting more than what you see from the outside, a large place with lots of tvs and beer and wings.
Enjoy the free parking, too! Another reason why this location is better than New Ro by far!
Since this place is a chain let me mention that obviously the food is pretty good here.
It all depends on how the service is.
At first it was nice to get a seat where a tv was since my friend and I wanted to watch a football game. OH WAIT, THERE'S TV'S EVERYWHERE! Thanks for making us seem like we're VIP.
Second, we ordered our drinks. Â I really didn't know they start their beer off by fermenting their hops because it really took that long!
They must of pickled their cucumbers that second because it took a long time for fried pickles to come out. Â Oh and I guess they must've made their own ranch dressing too since my fried pickles came out about 10 minutes after I got my dipping sauce. Â
It was hard enough to find a waiter, I'm sure he was in the corner making beer, pickles, and ranch dressing; maybe chopping the chicken wings into pieces while chasing them down because he was nowhere to be seen. Â Maybe there was a farm in back that I was missing, maybe I'm being too harsh on these people.
But the only reason I give it two stars is because the nice dorky little manager at this place was the only attentive one who brought my items, and of course he was going around every table, so I couldn't chase him down. Poor guy working with all these farm workers.
I know it is a chain, and I really don't think much of anything on the menu except the wings, but a good bar, lots of televisions to watch, and unlimited wings with many varieties of sauce. I'm very happy here!!! The burgers and ribs are certainly serviceable; the wraps, I couldn't tell you. The salads are kind of a disaster, with bland greens and uninteresting combinations, but really salads at BWW? Even on my best behavior, I'm not there for that.
Asian zinger and honey BBQ sauce balance the very, very hot types. Get a variety and share with a table. I can't believe you wouldn't enjoy licking your fingers.
Almost any pub that serves food in Westchester does what Buffalo Wild Wings does, but better. How can you deep-fry chicken wings, sauce them and still screw up?
Wings come out rubbery with a Buffalo sauce that is gloppy and looks dry. Maybe too much time under the heat lamp?Too bad, because the sauce isn't half bad.
Nachos were a disaster, chips in a bowl with a sprinkle of chili and cheese. After eating two chips off the top, all of the toppings were gone and all that was left were chips and a nasty salsa to dip them in.
Drinks are large, sweet and over priced. Our waiter, Frank was great, he apologized and apologized. He looked sorry for us, he knows the food is horrible.
Hey we weren't looking for anything more than decent bar food and wings when we walked in, we didn't have hopes beyond that. Can't figure why this place is always busy.
Do yourself a favor, walk down Main Street in Port Chester and pick a restaurant, any restaurant and you will do much better.
They cannot cook anything here that is good. Â I've had the salad's, they put too much dressing on it, like soup! Â I've had the wings, come one get real with it BWW. Â Wings are so cheap to buy, go get some real ones. Â Whatever you do, don't order the wings! Â If you do, get the boneless ones. Â They even managed to screw them up. Â They were so hard! Â The wraps are horrible. Â
Good things:
I've been here many times and have had many of items on the menu. Â I go back because of the beer specials and I love all the sports on the million and 1 tvs they have. Â
The sauces are dead on and very delicious. Â My favs are the regular hot and the Parmesan. Â
Bottom line, don't go here expecting good food. Â Go to watch sports and drink beer. Â Once you are drunk, order food.
Wing Tuesdays + Boneless Thursdays = Cheap saucy chicken.
Usually not a fan of chains, but when you're stuck north of the city with limited options, you fudge a little.
The servers were friendly and got all the orders right for our large group both times I've been here, there's a wide array of sauces to get your wings in, and bottomless fountain drinks. Not much to complain about... the pulled pork sandwich is damn good. The parking lot right across the street and garage adds to the convenience.
Their choice of music can certainly be irritating, more fit for middled aged women at a bad club than a sports bar for college students and bachelors. Solid four.
I actually used to work here so I can spill little details about this place if need be, but we'll keep that on the DL.... I'm actually surprised no one has reviewed this place before now!
It was greatly popular when it first opened up. Â Everyone wanted wings! Especially since it's popular for its 14 wing sauces ranging from sweet to screaming as we describe them... my personal fave, honey bbq... other popular ones... spicy garlic, asian zing, mango habanero and carribbean jerk. Â Now that all the hype is gone, it seems to have died down a bit... it's still a great place on Tuesday's for .40 cent wings or any day your favorite team is playing because no matter where you look you'll be facing a tv that can be changed to the channel your team is playing on... but the tv's are only allowed for sports (that's what we were told when working).
They have a huge assortment of beers on tap and what we don't have tapped you can usually find it bottled. Â Random ones like red stripe and labatt's blue and even two different kinds of odoul's... go figure. Â A 23oz brewtus is around $6 give or take, depending on the special... I'm not sure how good that is since I've only recently begun drinking beers so i haven't paid much attention to beer prices... we'll have to ask an expert male for that one. Â Other good things on the menu, at least by my pallette: Â the buffalo ranch chicken wrap (not the sandwich!), the crispy southwest dippers, the onion rings, popcorn shrimp, and their combos which come with either ribs, shrimp, ch tenders (a choice of two) and wedges, id also stick with the wraps altho the BRC is my fave... Â not so faves: Â stay away from the burgers... i've seen them made and they're always well well done to be up on regulations, the ribs to me dont look that appetizing but if you see them walk by your face and seem intrigued, by all means go for it, and the sandwiches are up there with the burgers, ive never had one except in training to know what its like.... oh and the specialty drinks... depending who's your bartender, they can be on the weak side and a stronger one will cost you more.
Now that I've rambled on about the food... let's get to the atmosphere: Â the atmosphere here is like a sports bar but brighter and not as grungy. Â There's plenty of room to sit, with a full upstairs (no bar up there tho) that's a bit more private and usually used for larger parties. Â They're really accomodating with larger parties which is nice as well, just call ahead and let them know. Â The lighting upstairs is dark so if you're older and need light to read, I'd suggest askign for a seat on the main floor. Â The other thing is that the main floor gets loud, especially when a popular game is on, everyone will cheer or boo at the exact same time, and well you can figure out the rest. Â I will say though that working there, the kitchen is very clean and well kept throughout the night so there's no worry there. Â
I give the place 3 stars because it's your typical hangout where local kids come to get something quick to eat. Â It's a great place to sit with some buddies, get some wings and some beers and kick back to watch the game if you don't want to do it at home... but you can also order the wings, pay much less for the beer by buying it yourself and enjoy it without all the fuss surroudning you. Â Whatever floats your boat...
oh, and as for bringing kids, early dinner is fine, later at night, not so fine... and it does do lunch since it opens at 11am and stays open till midnight most nights if not longer...
