Alpen Pantry

I LOVE this place. It's right up my alley & never disappoints. Each of the sandwich combinations I've tried so far have been excellent, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I find the black bread especially delicious. It's a nice, quiet little takeout place, perfect for popping in before or after getting on the train or going to the beach.

The Italian. The Russian. Gary could jack the prices up to $9 a sandwich and I'd still go there. This is what we call nostalgia food, especially since I've been coming there with my dad since I was a little kid. Every time I come down to O.G. I pop in and the place rarely changes.

Why would you change a formula that works, though?

Same great, diverse drink selection, same dirty potato chips and swiss candies, same old history channel playing on the TV in the corner of the room. Gotta love it.

If you can catch them before they run out of bread or close good job.  My top 3 are the Bernaise (roast beef melts in your mouth), the diller, and the courier.  I get everything on black bread because it's so money.
