Yangtze Riverside Restaurant

not a bad place for chinese food - came here after seeing the reviews on yelp as Im new to the neighbourhood so was looking for a go-to place for fast, cheap and good chinese. coming from Toronto, that's easy to find.

food is a little oily but it is expected for being a fast food chinese place.

order the yangtze special rice noodle - very tasty, it is on the sweet side.

the dumplings are so so, the wrapper is very thick.

beef fried rice could use a little more flavour.

Ordered pick up. Went for the basics, beef w/broccoli, beef lo main, egg rolls, pork fried rice. All up to snuff. Will be branching out and ordering from here again.

Everyone there, especially the owner, is adorable. The owner seems to be smiling every time I see him, and when I call from my house I can hear him smiling over the phone. I promised myself I would review this restaurant after he cheered me up the other day-- I was starving and called 5 minutes before they closed, and the owner recognized my voice and made me dinner even though he was about to leave. I'm not a Chinese takeout connoisseur (is anyone?) but it's extremely rare to find people these days who go out of their way to make you feel good. The people who work at Yangtze Riverside are the best!
