Just like any other Buffalo Wild Wings, the place is good for watching games, beers and wings, that's about it. The food is okay, not anything spectacular. The wings I received were  small and drenched in sauce. This happened before but I guess its a toss up of what you're gonna get. The burgers are a decent size, somewhat flavorful but not well put together. everything was falling off of my friends burger. The fries were overcooked. He said his meal was okay.
Our waitress was not attentive at all. The place wasn't even busy. She came to our table probably twice, to take our order and to bring us the check.
I would say don't come here if you want to have a nice hearty fill of wings or food but do come if you want to watch a game with a bunch of loud people that like to drink
I occasionally come to this Bdubs to watch basketball, football, and boxing. This Bdubs is conveniently located in Shokoe Bottom. This location is usually packed for sporting events or wing night. I never have problems with my food (always comes out hot). The customer service can use some tuning up. Theres a private lot across from the restaurant for parking or you may find street parking. I give this Buffalo Wild Wings a 2.5 rating.
Review Source:Hands down the worst dining experience of my life. Â This happened about 4-5 months ago, I just never thought to write about it until now, as my friends notified corporate but nothing happened.
Our waitress must have been high or something because she was totally just not with it. We sat down (more than 6 of us) in an almost entirely empty restaurant (no game was on), ordered water and cocktails, and waited. 30 minutes later, she was nowhere to be found. No water, no cocktails. We went to the bar and asked for the ETA on our drinks, and the bartender had no idea what we were talking about. We finally located our waitress and she said she was "just putting the drink orders in now." Â Like I said, there was no game on, literally like 5 other tables in the entire place were occupied, and nobody at the bar. We said no, that's okay, we don't want our drinks anymore. She pitched a fit. Said it wasn't her fault. ... okay, then whose fault is it that you just sat on our orders and did nothing for 30 minutes?
She brings us our water and for some reason we stayed and she came back and took our food order. An hour goes by, no food, and she hasn't come by to check on us for drink refills. Two friends show up late and they wave down the waitress and order their food. Finally, everyone's food arrives, except for 2 people who had been there and waiting the full time. She did, however, bring the food that the two friends who had literally just walked in ordered. My 2 friends who had been waiting the whole time were like, what the hell? Finally, she brings out the last two orders. One of them had ordered a black bean vegetarian burger off the "Build your own" portion of the menu. The waitress placed a beef burger in front of her, and when my friend said, "Um, this looks like beef," the waitress said, "no, it's vegetarian." Then when my friend argued some more and said, "no, it's clearly beef, I ordered a black bean burger," the waitress changed her story and said there was no black bean burger on the menu so my friend must have been mistaken. My friend's mouth almost dropped open in disbelief. She grabbed a menu from the center of the table, opened it, and showed the waitress where it was. The waitress rolled her eyes and took her burger away.
At that point we asked to see a manager. The manager was no better. We were trying to explain the terrible dining experience we had been having, and the manager got extremely defensive and started yelling at us that we didn't need to raise our voices at her. We apologized because although we weren't yelling, there were quite a number of us trying to talk at the same time, so it may have seemed that way. Finally, one member of our party spoke calmly to her, explaining everything that we had went through, and she still berated him like she was a child. She acted like we were lying the whole time, "Why would the waitress wait 30 minutes to put your drink orders in? That's ridiculous. That can't have happened." Um, it is ridiculous, it did happen, and that's why we're talking to you now. We had to argue for her to comp my friend's black bean burger, and we wanted to talk about getting the automatic 20% gratuity taken off for a party over 6, since we had been there for almost 2 hours at that point, and we did not feel the waitress deserved it. The manager, after arguing back and forth, said she could not change the 20% gratuity, but would instead give us 10% off the total bill. Okay, fine. We thanked her and asked for her to come back with the bill. 25 MINUTES LATER, she comes back with the bill, and the 10% off is nowhere to be seen. We chase her down, find her, and point this out. She says, "oh yea, I couldn't figure out how to get it to work on the system." Are you fucking kidding me? At this point everyone was so pissed off and we just wanted to go home, since we all live a few blocks away, so we just paid full price and left. Even with us paying full price, it still took a ridiculous amount of time for them to return our credit card slips. They must have just been dragging it out at this point to be as absurd as possible.
Absolute worst dining experience of my life. It sounds almost fake, everything was so terrible. When I told my friends about it they were in disbelief... yea. Ridiculous.
Only plus side is the food was actually really good, but after waiting almost two hours, we were all so hungry that I think anything would have been good. I've had great experiences at other BWWs, so I think it's just this one. They just don't give a shit.
I LOVE buffalo wild wings, it's probably my favorite chain restaurant... but this location in particular was absolutely terrible.
It was game day... I get it. But we got there at the end of the game and the place had practically cleared out... however, it took FOREVER (45 minutes) to get our wings. That's just unheard of for a buffalo wild wings.
We couldn't even ask about where our wings were because a waitress wasn't in sight. When I actually got my wings, there was barely any sauce on them. It was just a bit of a mess considering I ordered my wings to be extra saucy.
It was also really, really, REALLY cold inside the restaurant, which was odd considering it was cold outside as well. Just a bad experience. The waitress (when she was around) wasn't a complete bitch. She was actually nice, which is why I'm giving this place 2 stars and not 1.
It is what you'd Expect. A chain restaurant se
Raving wings in paper bowls. If you are Looking for
ine dining you will be disappointed. I like The wings so I come here to have a few beers and watch a game. This location was a little loud probably due to the Crowd there for the Tuesday wing special. Wait staff was attentive unlike other posters experiences.
Went here for lunch Friday with work friends. Was pleasantly surprised with the service. Â especially since my group wanted to sit outside and Ive read how that could cause you to be ignored. I was happy this was not the case for us.
Got there around 11:45 and it was dead in there! Surprising for a nice end of summer Friday. We were the only table outside but our waitress was attentive. I had 4 naked tenders, fries and a cherry limeade. Â The limeade could have used more cherry but it was good. Everyone enjoyed their food. I asked for mild sauce on the side and my request was honored. Â The naked tenders were seasoned well.
It was a long walk from my office, but i would go back if the weather was nice
My review is going to be all over the place, and I am acknowledging that now.
The location is okay, there's a shortage on parking on various occasions, but there are lots that you can pay to park so parking isn't impossible.
The service is it or miss, sometimes I have really good servers who are on top of refills and check in occasionally on the diners. Other times the servers seem to be caught up with other things and you need to flag someone down, but never more than once.
The food is standard, the same you'll find at every other location. The drinks on the other hand... Well, I'd recommend ordering beer. I've ordered numerous alcoholic drinks here, even shots, and nobody ever seems to get a buzz going. I'm not sure what the deal is, but unless you're getting beet, save your money.
What I really do like about this place is the management. There is a monthly event that I go to that was set up with the management here. They have always been accommodating and let us take a corner of the place and use their tvs and sound system. What was especially noteworthy was the fact that after a fire in the bottom last month, they remembered the event was supposed to be held in a few days and knew that they wouldn't be able to host it. So they gave the organizers a call to let them know what happened. On top of that, they gave contact information for other Buffalo Wild Wings to try and help move the event. That was very appreciated and saved a lot of trouble.
Extra star for management.
If I would have known how bad the service would have been I wold have not even thought about it. The server who was assigned out table was mediocre, her associates though, HORRENDOUS!!! This was my first time ever visiting this place so I was not familiar with their "sit anywhere you want" policy, so when I initially arrived with a group of 4 others, the girl who obviously worked there ignored us. She was in the mist of a gossip filed conversation about a frat party she went to and was tooo per-occupied to acknowledge our presence. It took our server about 7/8 minutes to come to our table. We still did not have menus when she did arrive, and the food was sub-par. I have definitely had better wings and MUCH better service. Do yourself a favor and cook at home.
Review Source:I was here over the weekend with a big group of people (11, I think). The food is decent, it's what I expected. I've been to other BWWs before and the food here was no different.
I understand that big groups can be difficult to manage, but our server was terrible. He never once made it around the table to take everyone's order at the same time. We were there for a couple of hours having drinks and dinner.
He took one couple's order (that's TWO people of the 11 we were with), went to the kitchen to check to see if a side dish was available, put in her order wrong, came back to check on what she wanted instead, and left to go fix her order. He came back to the next couple, and got interrupted by another table asking for takeout boxes, left our table to help them, and put in that couple's order. Came back 10 minutes later to get my/my boyfriend's orders, walked away to put those in, and then had to be flagged down for the rest of our group to place their order. When we finally got our food, it was wrong - he brought boneless wings instead of regular ones. Surprise surprise, the boneless ones are more expensive. And to top it all off, a 20% fee was added onto everyone's check since our party was so large.
I guess if you're guaranteed a 20% tip, it doesn't matter if you pay attention to your table or not. I won't be going back to this BWW.
This is a horrible restaurant. The wings are OK. The service sucked. We went their twice because the basketball tournament is held in Richmond, and there's not very many places open. Both times, it was a depressing reminder of how bad a wing joint can be. The bathrooms are also creepy... why have 3 urinals for such a big place? Save your stomach and your money, just go somewhere else.
Review Source:So I had driven by this place several times and always wanted to give it a try. I knew it was a chain, but didn't know how big of a chain it was until I saw one near home in Irvine over Winter Break.
Anyway, I finally made it over. It was a bit difficult to find parking, but I got lucky and there was one spot on the street, I just had to practice my parallel parking skills...
It was 50-cent wings Tuesdays when I went, so that was cool! You have to order a minimum of five wings per order though. I wanted to try more off of their extensive list of sauces, but I could only choose one sauce per order. Instead, I tried some of their other menu offerings to supplement my five "Thai curry" wings (which were definitely spicy, although not too spicy).
I was going to order the garlic mushrooms since I love mushrooms, but saw the fried pickles and just HAD to try that since I had never seen that dish before. They were good, but a bit sour (I guess that's to be expected since they are pickles). Then again, I'm not the biggest pickle fan.
I also got a side of coleslaw and an order of the soft pretzels. I LOVE SOFT PRETZELS! They came as a set of three and were nice and warm.
Overall, the food was fine. I actually wasn't aware that this was a full-on bar, and didn't expect to have my ID checked even though I didn't order any drinks. It appeared as if they don't let in anyone under 21, not even for people just looking to eat? Don't quote me on that though.
Actually, now that I think about it, there was a kids' meals section on the menu, so maybe they ARE family-friendly. I don't understand why they automatically asked for my ID when I walked through the door then.
There were pool tables and lots of TVs, and although this place is huge and wasn't all that full, it was still relatively noisy. Our server was fine, and actually checked on us several times during the meal.
If you are in the mood for wings, come for 50-cent Tuesdays! Or boneless wings on 60-cent Thursdays! (It's not on the menu, so just ask.)
Disgusting chain restaurant! The food isn't great nor the service that you'll get from the filthy looking staff. The barmaid has a terrible body and matching attitude; the cooks look like they have rabbies. You can see the staff in dirty uniforms smoking in the back of the establishment. I walked right out of this place after i was yelled at for asking if i could place an order. This is a great place to see how country a "city" really is.
Review Source:Service was horrible. I arrived at the restaurant with a party of 6 around 7:00pm on a Thursday. The restaurant was around 25% capacity. Â The server did not acknowledge our table until 10 minutes later when someone from my party walked to find the manager. We put our drink and food orders in 20 minutes after being seated. Our food comes out 40 minutes later and with as long as it took to come out, I was under the impression that they were slaughtering chickens in the kitchen and cooking everything from scratch. To my surprise, the food was cold as ice. It was at that moment that I realized that I was in a no win situation. I could have sent the food back for another item, but it would have taken another 40 minutes to come out and who knows what the cooks would have done to it. This will be the last time I go to this particular Buffalo Wild Wings.
Review Source:My review is specifically for the BW3 in Glen Allen, VA at VCC...our household loves wings. Â I mean, LOVES wings. Â And BW3 (in general) is a decent fix when the craving arises --- but man, oh man, the Glen Allen location sucks the Big One, BIG TIME. Â
The food is not the issue, the HORRIBLE and RUDE service and staff really gives this chain a bad rap. Â Unfortunately, since this is the closest location to our house, we have given this place repeated attempts to turn our opinion around. Â Each time turns out to be WORSE than the time before. Â We have even resorted to just take out on a weeknight, and when we ARE lucky enough to get someone to answer the phone --- he / she is either too distracted to get the order right or is so annoyed to receive the call to begin with.
Bottom line: Â Sheesh...BW3 Glen Allen at VCC SUCKS.
Worst drinks ever.
D and I went here with a purpose before he left - to drink some awful, overly sweet, mixed drinks, watch some TV, and eat a ton of buffalo wings. Sadly, the drinks were so weakly poured that even I didn't get an Asian glow. At $9.50, it was one of the biggest rip-offs in the city. The wings were bad too - dry, small, and overcooked.
They don't even serve the food with napkins here, and while I've noticed this is an issue with the city as a whole, EVERYTHING is served in disposable containers, none of which are recyclable. Plus one star only because I will be going back at some point to drink cheap beer and watch Cal Football (thank goodness someone in my neighborhood has DirectTV!). Go Bears!
Standard Buffalo Wild Wings experience. Â Came in here because I wanted a burger within walking distance and Cafe Gutenberg is closed on Mondays. Â Like everything else at BWW, the burger was a salt explosion. Â I love salt, but this thing tasted like a horse lick. Â Service was fine, granted this was 5:15pm on a Monday and we were the only people in here except the 2 sketchy guys playing pool.
Probably won't go back unless I'm trying to watch sports and am for some reason trapped in Shockoe Bottom.
First off, I consider myself a wing connoisseur. Ok, now that i've gotten that out of the way.....
Let's not pretend Buffalo Wild Wings is something it's not. After reading the reviews here, it seems to me some people may have a mis-understanding about the purpose of this place. Or the purpose of this place, as i see it - which is all that matters for my review :)
Things Buffalo Wild Wings is good at:
- Good wings, with an excellent selection of sauces.
- Cheap, cold, tall beers. Always some sort of beer special.
- Lots of TV's, lots of sports.
To me, no matter what, those 3 things always mean a good time. When i'm drinking beer, eating wings, and watching some football or baseball, that is probably one of the higher points of my life.
Things Buffalo Wild Wings is not good at:
- Consistently good service.
But again, if a person expects to go to Buffalo Wild Wings and be treated like they're eating at the tobacco company, well, then maybe expectations need to be adjusted.
BW3's does what it's supposed to do pretty well. Get me drunk while stuffing my face with wings and watching sports. And all that for a pretty reasonable price. I'm happy.
Back in 2007 I was one of the judges for the Best Hot Wings in Richmond contest done by the Times Dispatch. Â Buffalo Wild Wings was one of the competitors and was expected to top the competition. Â Every restaurant chosen was allowed multiple flavor entries. Â From what I recall BW3 was near the bottom of the list by the end of the night. Â The wings were too small, too dry, and lacked the kicked we were looking for. Â
Other than wings there sandwiches and other food are typical for the style of restaurant. Â Nothing will wow you. Â Also everything will be $1 or $2 more expensive than it should be. Â
The service ranges from great to the worst in the city so don't expect anything going in. Â Also the clientele depending on the sporting events of the night can get a bit low class.
If you are looking for a good meal this is not your place. Â If you are looking for cheap beer served too cold and a male macho bar fight you'll fit right in.
The food is consistently consistent. It is a good chain, you get what you expect. Probably the best wings I've found in Shockoe.
The service, however, is HORRIBLE though. I've gone for lunch several times, and even when there is no one around, it can take over an hour. it is just bad.
I've had to get up to find my wait person before to pay, and it still took them 15 minutes once I gave them my card. Unexplainable.
