I'm going to start with the bad, have to knock off one star because your salt comes with some fries, or at least that the way it's been for me the last couple of times I have stopped in.
I tend to meet a friend here for a drink or two as it's half away between our places. They have a nice beer selection, make some better mixed drinks and the food is pretty good, save the fries.
They have tons of TV's with a good selection of games on, a nice seating area if you want a regular table, some highboys if you don't and a lengthy bar.
Well worth stopping in if you want a few good drinks and might want to catch the tail end of a ball game.
We can each only write about our own experiences; and that is what I'm doing.
The server was very polite and attentive and the food was very good. We had the Boatload of Nachos as an appetizer and I could've eaten just that for my meal! My son had the 8 oz. New York Strip and gave me a bite - wow! Was it tender! Usually, you don't expect as much from this cheaper cut of steak but what he was served was cooked exactly as ordered and very tender. I had the (recommended by the server) beef brisquit sandwich and it was very good. Two choices of BBQ sauce; I chose spicy and it was just right. Fries were good, too. For dessert we went with the molten lava chocolate cake. I'd have liked a little more "lava" in it but it was warm and tasty. No complaints on our visit!
Two stars because our waitress was really great. Â I would only give 1 star for the food. Â I ordered an 8 ounce New York Strip but I don't know what I actually got. Â It had so much gristle in it I could barely eat it. Â There was absolutely nothing special about it either. Â No spices - nothing. Â I had to add salt and pepper just to eat it. Â The green beans were naked too. Â No onion, bacon, salt or pepper in them. Â They were so bland. Â The potato was the saving grace but then again it's pretty hard to mess up a baked potato.
We stopped by while we were in town for a gymnastics meet so I doubt I will ever go here again. Â I would like to say that our waitress was super nice and super attentive and that helped the experience somewhat but it doesn't mask the low quality food they serve. Â Sorry.

Matt S. is a natural host-server. On a gray rainy early evening, he met us at the door with a smile and warm greeting. Our questions about the gift card and gluten-free options were answered politely, even enthusiastically. Hire staff members who work like Matt, and you'll create enough goodwill for an extra star every time.
The B & B menu has the sort of variety you would expect in a casual dining restaurant. I quickly focused in on the burgers, noticing that in addition to beef, turkey, and veggie, I could get a BISON burger. I ordered mine as a California (avocado) grilled medium with fries and a side salad. Two of my tablemates had other varieties of bison burger, and the third had a NY strip steak. Everyone was pleased with very good flavor and generous portions.
Bull & Bear is definitely an improvement over its predecessor "Krieger's." Krieger's was at the extreme edge of aural comfort, even for a sports bar. I have a clear memory of yelling so tablemates could hear me, as loud at lunch as late night with a dance band. Hoarseness on a weekday afternoon is not attractive in my work world, and two visits to Krieger's was enough for me. The atmosphere at B&B is a little calmer.
Thanks, Matt S., kitchen staff, and owners for very good family fare, and excellent service. May the New Year be more "bull" than "bear" for you.
They used to be pretty good when they first converted from Kreiger's. They've recently made "improvements" to their menu, which has actually lessened the quality. My dad and I used to go there, and we would usually order the same thing every time (because it was good). He would get their taco salad and I would get their chicken quesadilla. Well the taco salad has changed and they no longer have the Southwest Chipotle sauce, although the waiter and manager insist they do, but they don't. The quesadilla had very little chicken and it was shredded and dry like canned chicken. Â Needless to say there is absolutely no reason for me to ever return there.
Review Source:This restaurant was not very impressive, the first time we went there it was during dinner and the place was busy and everything went normal without being exceptionally great. Â We decided to try it again for lunch one day that was a BIG mistake, we were waited on by someone who seemed to be a manager (was not in a waiter uniform) and was not very attentive to us at all, even though there were only 2 other people in the whole restaurant besides us. Â I never got a refill on my drink, we waited a very long time for our food, and when we did it was horrible. Â The fries tasted old and the sandwich I ordered tasted very plain, my boyfriend didn't even get the burger he ordered but decided to eat it anyway since the "waiter" never returned to our table. Â Then after waiting another 20 minutes for our check (still no refill on the drinks) we finally got the hell out of there.
I think the worst part is that I never got a reply from them when I e-mailed them a complaint that day, honestly I don't think I deserved to pay over $30 for that Bullsh*t (Yeah! Our bill was over 30 dollars for 2 crappy sandwiches, cold fries, mozzarella sticks, and the stupid drinks we never got refills on)
I've been here twice. Â The first time was OK, but unmemborable. Â It looks the same as everywhere else, with TVs all over the place. Â The food is, for the most part, fine. Â The last time, though, we were a little confused by some of the aspects of our dinner. Â Why was the grilled shrimp served luke warm? Â How come the "Italian Beef" was really just a French Dip? Â Why is the coffee so bad?
