This review is for the MAN BEER because it is delicious and deserves it's own page on Yelp. Hoppy delight!

I'll add a bit about the decor I suppose....COZY. In winter, I would come here everyday. It feels like my Grandpa's rustic cabin -- complete with fireplace and shelves of scotch.

Didn't try the food because my beer was enough to fill me up but the menu looks decent. Warm, comfort food that once again screams winter to me. Not sure if I would love this place as much in the summer now that I mention it but it is truly winter pub perfection.

Good beer, mediocre food, friendly but busy staff, crowded and noisy.

Hubby and I came here on a weeknight for dinner recently when a friend was in town.  We had been wanting to try the place for a while but hadn't realized it was so close to home.  The parking kind of sucked, very limited parking lot.  We were seated right away but the place seemed to fill very quickly after we sat down which was around 5.  There were a couple of different rooms, we were in the front room.  I had a burger, which was okay.  Our friend had fish tacos, which were okay.  Whatever my husband had was also okay.  The beers were pretty good, I really liked the Man beer which is their IPA.  (I kept getting corrected by the waitress when I mentioned IPA - you mean the MAN BEER?)  My husband had a stout that was also very tasty.  As the crowd increased, the noise level increased accordingly.  It was very loud by the time we maneuvered through the crowd at the door to leave.  Our waitress was good for the most part, super friendly, but then at the end we kind of sat around for 15-20 minutes waiting for her to bring the check, then she brought the wrong check, then we waited forever for her to pick up our credit card.  Anyway we would go back to grab a beer, and the brunch sounds good so I will give that a chance.  But only because it is close to home - I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

Best bar atmosphere I've been to in Denver.  It reminds me of some of the pubs I went to while I was in London.

So first time walking in to this place, I was really pleased. The decor is exponentially more amazing than most bars. My friend (who does't drink) and I had just gotten off work. We bartend at a place downtown and we decided to trek from ballpark area all the way to glendale to check this place out.

When we arrived, I asked the bartender if he liked their sour. It's a legit question. I don't drink the sour where I work. It tastes like lime shock tarts. He saltily replied "It takes like sour." When I asked again "well do YOU like it?" he replied "It's from concentrate. It comes from a bottle"

Hey thanks for he help asshole!

All night i felt like we (and everyone) were getting vibed out of the place. Isn't that the opposite of want you want at a business that's main income involves customers staying and spending money?

I always feel bad tipping less than 20% but that butthead got 17%. I just found out this kid's name is Chuck. I don't know, maybe ask for a table and a server if he's working.

I would have given this place 4ish stars if it wasn't for this kid.

But Bull & Bush your place is beautiful.

I'm a long time Glendale resident and live in walking distance from the B&B.  I want to give  this place a 4 or higher star so badly, but find I just can't.  Therefore B&B gets my very first 3-star ever. Ambiance is stellar, and for me that tends to be one of the most important factors I look for in a bar/restaurant.  However, service is also high on my list of priorities, and service here tends to be...well, not so much.  Tonight I brought a group in so I could show off what Glendale had to offer.  While table service was alright, when I bellied up to the bar afterwards to get a beverage the bartender seemed to intentionally ignore me, despite the fact I was quite close to the service tickets that were being rung up and noticed immediately.  I ended up leaving.

Great place for Sunday brunch.  The chicken fried chicken is hands down the best around.  The green chili is amazingly delicious!

We go there any chance we get, driving from Parker.

Congratulations to Bull & Bush Brewery for its one, two, three, four World Beer Cup 2012 medals!

    Gold - Man Beer
    Gold - Turnip the Beets
    Bronze - The Tower E.S.B.
Bronze - Release the Hounds Barley Wine

Not incidentally, this was the first year B&B has brought home multiple World Beer Cup medals and was the ONLY independent brewery to win four medals at the 2012 competition.  Watch out for the 2014 World Beer Cup, which will be held here in Denver.

Congratulations again to Bull & Bush for its silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival in the category of Extra Special Bitter awarded to The Tower E.S.B.!

Bull & Bush was a busy little brewery in 2012!  Besides winning multiple prestigious awards, the brew room portion of the building was expanded and the kitchen was completely remodeled.  Mr. P. and I still come here semi-regularly for our prime rib fix.  The price has increased by a dollar (a king cut is now $19.99 and a queen cut is now $15.99) but the quality has been consistently great since the kitchen re-opened.

Since I'm not a beer drinker (I know, gasp!), I can't attest to the awesomeness any of B&B's award winning brews but I suspect that I would hang around a lot more often if I did enjoy the suds.  So I'll just keep hoping for the addition of my favorite Colorado wines to the drink menu at my friendly neighborhood pub.  Cheers!

BnB is very good. The beers are consistent & good. However, on my last visit the beers were more than good. I finally had Liquid Brain, their aged bourbon barrel stout. This was a 2010 varietal & it was excellent. You have to ask if they have it, they release it sporadically and it sells out very fast. I was never an ESB fan but they converted me with their well made offering. I also had their Black IPA, which I am a sucker for, and loved it. The Dobo Doppel kicked major ass too!

    Great atmosphere.

    Easy parking.

Good food and happy hour. = an all around win. Give it try.

I had to go right down the middle at three-stars on this one - the beer is great but the food is mediocre at best. The long awaited kitchen re-opening was a disappointment. BUT the beer will keep me coming back to this yocal bar.

I have been going to the Bull & Bush for 25 years, since they opened the new kitchen they have forgotten how to serve food.  Sunday brunch was a disaster, bad food and the most hopeless waiter I have had for a long time.  Someone needs to have a short sweet talk with the cooks and wait staff.

Go for the beer and leave to eat somewhere else. The food used to be decent for a bar but after reopening after closing for a kitchen remodel the quality and service just went downhill. The green chile was cold, our sandwiches were dry and fries were more like potato sticks. Very disappointing considering how amazing the beers are. So if you go, save yourself but drinking only and not eating. Also, order two at a time so you're not sitting and waiting for someone to come by.

We needed a place to eat that would be open late- the Bull & Bush kitchen serves until 10:00 and they are open until 2:00. We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of their dining area and seating arrangement. Our server was cheery and helpful. Our food came out super fast.

Everyone in our group was pretty happy with their meal. The green chile was excellent. They have great skinny fries. However, the horseradish bacon burger lacked kick; I don't even really like spicy food, but it was a bit bland for me.

Like many pubs, they had a plethora of TVs on every wall, which last night were playing quite loud. As long as that won't bother you, this is a great option for some late night eats, unique beer selection, and certainly a nicer culinary experience than an all night diner.

If your idea of an English pub involves a lot of TV screens and noise, then perhaps this is the place for you.  Unfortunately, over the years this place has morphed into just another sports bar type of place.

We went in last night to check it out after waiting for months for the new kitchen to be finsihed. I had been once before, we tried their beers a GABF and my boyfriend had been wanting to try it. I remember the food being good and it may still be good.

However, the male host that finally greeted us after standing at the host stand for a good five minutes made it clear that he did not want us as customers. He was incredibly rude and sarcastic. He told us it was a 45 minute wait even though there plenty of open tables and no other people waiting. I understand that kitchens get busy but he refused to even let us sit down at a table and wait to order food. He rolled his eyes when we asked if we could try to find a seat at the bar and said "Nope, looks like it is full" It was a wednesday night, so your kitchen should not be so slammed that you cannot seat customers at open tables for 45 minutes. But something like that would be forgivable, a host who makes it clear that he is not interested in keeping your business and has no customer service skills is not.

Very cozy and rustic, very nice considering the local competition. The beer is good and while I know that I have tried a few of their brews, nothing really stand out as fantastic or awful.

I am sure I'll be going back. Can't wait for the kitchen to re-open so I can try the food!

I could walk here from my apartment so how bad could it be?  The beer is tasty and this place has an old pub feel...dark and moody.  I loved it.  Great cheeky logo and they sell their shirts, etc on site.  I guess it's not for everyone but certainly fits the bill after a long week when you need a brew and some scenery.  Lots of TVs so they draw a sports crowd especially on weekends.  Haven't tried the food since the kitchen is being remodeled.  Hope it's up and running soon...I need some grub with my beer.

Pretty nice brews, worth checking out if you're in the area.  The kitchen was closed for construction at the time so i can't rate the food.

Note: the beer samples are a $1 a pop so don't go overboard ;)

The husband and I swung in here on our cross country road trip.  We had planned on eating dinner here, but upon arriving we discovered their kitchen was closed.  It kind of ruined our plans and I had wished I known that from looking at their website.  They did have a food truck in the parking lot, but we were looking for something a bit more substantial.

The logo is pretty awesome, which means I love their merchandise.  Their beers were ok.  Nothing over the top impressive, but nothing too awful either.  The restaurant was dark.  So dark that the workers in there had to use headlamps to see what they were doing.  The place was loud, even with just a few people in it.  I can only imagine how loud it would be with a full house.

I'd give it a try again to see how their menu was if in the area.

These guys make some great beer. I get growlers filled here and eat elsewhere. The food is not really worth your time.
But! They are remodeling their kitchen - maybe they can remodel their menu next?

I get very friendly service every time I go. I recommend the B&B Legendary Fish & Chips fish and chips and the coleslaw that comes with it. The coleslaw is one of my favorite so far that I have tried in Denver. I still give it three stars because their beer is only so so. Very metallic tasting no matter which beer I have tried.

I had a few beers here with my Dad while on vacation. The atmosphere inside is very divey. Shaky chairs, old bar, carpet that is older than me, and probably has not been clean in that same amount of time. To say the bar area is dark is an under statement. I can barely see my hand in front of my face. The patio outside is great though.

The service is nondescript. Give them your order, and they bring beer. Nothing to complicated, I did not have food, but seems pretty much pub grub.

The house beer selection goes from pils to stout. The ESB I had was below average at best, tasted like nail polish and vinegar, as was the pils. A decent amber ale, and I enjoyed the brown. I originally thought they had cask beers because some of the tap handles looked like a hand pull. Though that was not the case. A bit disappointing for me. An extensive selection of aged bottles to choose from as well. JW Lees, Drie Fonteinen, that sort of thing. All at premium cost, but the draughts are all reasonable.

Overall a laid back divey place. The house beers are not bad, just not great. Not something I would go out of my way for, especially in this town. Though a very nice relaxing time spent with Pops, and I can't beat that.

I sponsor a local non-profit monthly fund raising charity gathering here in the Denver area and our old spot to meet was becoming too small for our growing crowd.

A fellow member and I came in to check the place out. The food was good, the beer was good. The service was a little slow, but they did seem understaffed for the lunch crowd. We gave them the benefit of the doubt because, who knows, someone may have called in sick or something. It happens.

So, we decided that this place would be perfect for our crowd of then about 35 people. We asked out waitress if they allowed private parties and they said they did and gave us the owner's number to work out details. It all looked like this would be our new 2nd Tuesday of the month home.

I phoned the number given and a lady answered.  After explaining that we have 35ish regular attenders and we were just there and saw that the screened-in patio had more than enough room for us to grow and suited our simple needs perfectly, I got this reply...

"We really don't need any more business. We have enough customers already."

I haven't been back since and neither has anyone in our organization.

Loved the beer.  It is a dive in the good sense.  Problem was, the kitchen was closed and is under remodel.  So, no food, and we were there to order.  It has the dive bar smell, but they produce some really nice micro brews,  The Man Beer, (the IPA), was good, but my favorite was the Hefe Weisen, which had the hint of banana from the yeast..  Service was good, but we will go back once the  kitchen is up again. I will update my review then.

I've been here 3 times now and the service has never been good. The food was also sub par. The last time I went we were there for about 45 minutes before our order was taken and I'm 99% sure our server was on some sort of weird drugs. She had no idea what she was doing and didn't seem to care. About an hour after our order was taken I finally decided to hunt someone down to find out where our food was, and about 10 minutes later our server came up to laugh and tell us she forgot to put our order in and needed to retake it. 35ish minutes later we finally ate. So, it was about a 3 hour lunch, and the "manager", who we never saw, offered to buy our drinks for us. I work in the service industry and am very understanding in almost all cases, but that was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant and I thought it was ridiculous that they expected sp to pay for our food.

Anyway, that was the worst service experience out of 3 bad ones, and the last time I'll go there. I do not recommend it.

Had a great time with my wife and daughter here.  Although it's a pub they were very accommodating to our 7 year-old.  The beer is first rate and the food is above average for bar food.
The band was playing show tune type music which was very strange for the bar?!?

One day after a long ride and it was hot in my house (no a/c), I decided that I really wanted a beer. As I tried to decide where i wanted to go, I recalled that Bull & Bush was nearby and that I hadn't been here for several years.

I came in around 4 pm on a hot Saturday and there were a few people here, but not crowded. The interior is very dark, with dark furniture and low lighting. I was seated immediately and given a menu.  It took a little while for my server to come over and she was not the friendliest, but took care of what I needed. Since I couldn't decide on a beer, I ordered tasters, $3 for 3- 3 oz. I ordered the Red Eye Espresso Stout, Allgood Amber Ale and the 4.0 GPA (Grapefruit Pale Ale). I hoped to enjoy the Amber ale, but it was not to my liking. Surprisingly I really enjoyed the Grapefruit Pale Ale and I am not a fan of pale ales. For some reason the inclusion of grapefruit in a pale ale makes it less bitter (?) in taste to me and I ordered a pint of the GPA and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also ordered a burger with fries that was quite good. I felt it was a good value for the price I paid.

I won't wait so long to come back again.

I'll preface this with apparently this place is getting a complete overhaul soon but the 3 times I've been here the food has been mediocre at best. This most recent visit, I had an awesome female bartender as a server which made this culinarily dismal experience tolerable.

Their 1971 original recipe fish & chips - I call BS on this. No one really used panko for breading in the US until 15-20 years ago at the earliest. And it's bland and not crispy like panko normally is. So bland, not worth eating.

Maybe it's just me. No, actually it's not. The people next to me had to send their food back because it was so cold. Then they screwed up her eggs on the re-do so it had to be sent back again.

Thank god their beer is good.

So say you're at Target on Colorado and you really want a beer (I've had this desire on many an occasion after battling the parking lot), what's close?  Well the Bull and Bush is right down the street to serve you're every need.  I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to eat here but if I found myself in the hood, sure. And yes, there are regulars who might kill me for not finding this place as delightfully addictive.  The crowd appears to be generally on the mid thirties and up range, very laid back and crowded.

The British pub themed place has been around for 40 years so it has to have some following. The logo is pretty entertaining.  They brew their own beer, they cook with it too.  The beer menu has got a little bit of everything including not only their own beers and offering growlers to go. I have a hard time finding potato skins in Denver (I know sounds crazy but really, how often are they on the menu?) and theirs were OK.  I had the Brewhouse turkey sandwich; like the potato skins it was fine but forgettable.  I hear the thing to order is the chicken fingers which are almond breaded- though it comes with a warning that the accompanying BBQ sauce is made with stout and can be a little overwhelming.

Would I go back? If, like this time, I was meeting someone in that neighborhood.  Would I think to go on my own, no.

I have been coming here for years and just realized I have never written a review.
First...parking is a pain.  It is off of Cherry Creek and you will probably have to drive around awhile on a Friday or Saturday night to find a spot.  Think downtown, but free.

As you walk into the place, you can just breathe in the tradition.  No old smells, just a place that is comfortable.  I don't think I have ever had a bad beer.  Good descriptions and good beer.  Our service Saturday was so fast it was almost like she read our minds...great.

    I'll back...

Oh, try the mashed potatoes with green chili.

skip it...we've heard of B&B, one of those old school institutions...not so much...cherry cricket kicks their a%$!!

Any place with square shaped burgers makes me wonder in the first place...Other than being square shaped the food was ok, for bar food...reminded me a bit of a Sizzler...maybe it was the really dark interior....and the iceberg lettuce salad with fried onions on top..

The service was astoundingly, odd, and pretty bad. Our table of 10 was lectured twice about their "policy" about not splitting checks, (after people asked normally and politely for their part of the check) yet he did spilt two checks off for people who needed to leave early..he said if we came back we were not to do so again...really???

He then REPEATEDLY let us know gratuity was not included in the check..we are a group of laid back fun people who came for some grub after a bike ride, apparently we came across cheap..maybe because we were in work out and comfy clothes???

Drinks were really slow, the server took our order twice because he thought he could remember 10 "make your own burger" orders without writing it down...and then came back saying he was "in pain" (???) and needed to write it down...and then 3 orders were still messed up.

If this was around the block I might try it again, well not really...I thought I might until I remembered the square burger on top of the horrible service..

    go to cherry cricket

I'd been hearing about Bull & Bush for ages, but never checked it out until earlier this week when Lisa H, Steve A, and I needed an "in between" locale to meet up at during a bike ride.  And B&B ended up being just about the perfect distance from home for all of us!

The evening we rolled up to B&B, the weather was a bit finicky:  gusty winds with a threat for rain.  We saw that they had a pretty sizable covered patio, so, despite the weather, we opted to enjoy the outdoors.  To get to the patio, we of course had to walk through the restaurant proper:  dark and woodsy, even a bit sultry due to the low light.  If we weren't headed to the patio, I think I'd really enjoy this space.

We were sat promptly and served up some water just as quickly.  I was thrilled that the patio was situated in such a way that the restaurant proper blocked most of the wind.  Even with the temperamental weather, the patio was a great place to savor a late spring night.  It took a bit to grab our server's attention when we were ready for drinks and food, but he seemed pretty busy.

Firstly, the beer.  Oh my, very tasty!  I had tried the Big Ben Brown Ale at a restaurant downtown and really enjoyed it.  Very flavorful!  But since the evening was still quite warm, I opted for something lighter.  First I tried the Hefeweizen, then the Pilsner.  Both were awesome, but I'd go for the Pilsner before the Hefe next time.  It just had a brighter flavor that I'm really keen on at the moment.

Next up, the food!  We started out with the red pepper hummus plate.  You could make this a meal if you weren't terribly hungry and just wanted to snack.  I loved the hummus; it had just the right amount of kick!  The breads and veggies that supplemented the hummus were also nom-worthy.  For my entrée I went with the Apple Steak Salad.  Holy cow, this plate of deliciousness was bigger than my head!  I knew I'd only be able to shovel down a quarter or a third of this beastly salad, but I relished every bit.  The steak was perfect, the apples, walnuts, and blue cheese added some fun to an already exciting plate.

I can't remember what everyone else ordered, but I know we were all pleasantly surprised and pleased with our choices.

Yep, Bull & Bush just became a new favorite for me.  And just a short bike ride away!

Visited for lunch and surprisingly, not packed.  Inside the bar is really dark, and since it was a nice day we didn't want to sit in the dark indoors.   It helped us make our decision that the bar also had sort of a funky smell when we came in... like bathroom cleaner or something.  Anyway, we decided the best bet was the patio.

The beers were really good.  The Man Beer IPA was great, and I'm not even a big IPA fan.   We opted to try the fresh hop infusion, and steeped our Man Beer in some Chinook hops to make it even more manly.  What a great gimmick for all the hop-lovers out there!  The finished product was noticeably hoppier and still very, very good.   We also tried the Amber (very good) and the Ice Cream Clone Stout (delish!)

The food here is what you'd expect for a proper pub:  burgers, fish and chips, etc., but also includes your more Colorado fare, such as green chili and street tacos.  The food was really tasty, much better than your average brewpub.  I had the street tacos and they were delicious.   My hubby had the buffalo chicken tenders which were good, but about what you'd expect for chicken tenders.  Everyone around us seemed to be ordering the Reuben, and next time I may do that too since it looked amazing.

Service was prompt and overall acceptable, though not very cheerful.  Whatever, maybe someone was having a bad day.  Luckily, the good food and great beers made up for any lack of friendliness by our wait staff.  We'll be back.

Cruising the Norfolk Broads takes you to tiny, stereotypically quaint English villages where the pub is at the center of life.  Pubs are even marked on the government-produced navigation charts!  Pick up Bull & Bush and put it down in any of those villages, locals would walk right in: the building, converted from a barn, has outstanding decor outside & in.  However, upon cracking open the menu, villagers would see little recognizable and might just exclaim, "Pardon me, ol' chap, but what in the Queen's name is green chili?!"

They make a lot of beers in-house, which never disappoint, although they're more typical of the American brewpub than the traditional range of British ales & lagers.  Guest brews are also on offer with particularly heavy representation from Colorado, England, and Belgium.  If you want the stronger stuff, they have about the largest whisky (all varieties) collection I've seen.

The upscale pub food is high quality at a good value, with a focus on burgers and sandwiches.  Fish-n-chips is about the only English pub standard you'll find -- depending on your opinion on English food, that could be a good thing, but expats won't find much comfort here.  Weekend brunches feature many hearty choices that go great with the drinks on special.

Where the _____ has this been?  If you need a night off from the pretentious vibes flowing from most Cherry Creek and Washington Park establishments you must give Bull & Bush a shot.  You will find this hidden gem nestled among, what appeared to be, an apartment complex.  Strange, but go with it.

First, it's a pub...an English one if I'm not mistaken.  The decor is quaint and consistent with what you'd expect to find in the English countryside (although I've never been).  Additionally, you can expect all of the usual items to accompany such a place:

    1) Good beer - they brew their own
    2) Good cheer - as to be expected with others in such a pub...you're there to drink more than one of anything but light american beer
    3) Good music - oddly enough a dixieland band was playing (average age of band members was 60), but it worked.
    4) Good food - the usual pub stuff: fish n' chips, bangers, etc.  They boast of their green chili (like everyone else in the godforsaken state of Colorado), which I didn't try, but I am sure it's good.

Seriously though, no douchey or pretentious peeps here.  If you feel more comfortable being sized up every time you step through a local eatery door there are plenty of places near by to accomplish such desires.

Also, they have AMPLE PARKING (OMG), and TV's everywhere so you can watch the Nugs tank it to a lesser team while contemplating which beer to order next.

    Cheers.

We know we can always count on Bull & Bush Pub & Brewery.
Very good food, very good prices.

Parking - there is a parking lot, which is often full, but you can park on the street. This restaurant is in a residential neighborhood, so no problem with parking on the street.

Food- very good @ good prices too   Burgers, salads, appetizers, and some entrees, as well as dessert. They have nightly specials, and Monday nights is their ribs - to die for!  I hesitated to mention this, as I really don't want the word to spread.  Their bread pudding is also excellent!  Hamburges - the Prince Charles Burger is our favorite.

Atmosphere - a bit noisey, but it just "works" for this restaurant. The restaurant is a bit dark, just to give you a heads up.

Dress - casual. Good for small or a bit larger groups

Beer - VERY GOOD! This restaurant is also a brew pub, so you can't go wrong with that.

Appetizers - we love the tacos, as well as the almond crusted chicken tenders.
The green chili covered mashed potatoes are also very good.

Wait staff - most of the wait staff is good. There are 1 or 2 people that are very very slow, otherwise very good.

Patio - large, spacious, and very nice. No Smoking too!!!!!

See you soon at the Bull & Bush Pub & Brewery!

I got the green chile. It was so good. The waitress seemed a little grumpy, she was clearly overloaded and over drunk people. The beer was good. My husband got the manbeer and he liked it, not too hoppy for him but too hoppy for me as all IPA's are.

They were playing Journey and people were cheering. Yup. Cheering for journey.  That's what kind of place this is.

It looks like Disneyland Switzerland on the outside. I love that.

Good for old people that remember Journey or young people dorks that pretend to be cool (by air guitaring to journey, thus, dorks) but all and all good Denver people.

Beer was good, but expensive. I am going back and bringing my grandma for hh who used to work at the old Heidelberg (that I suspect is connected to this place in some way?)

    Fun.

I live within walking distance of the Bull and Bush and have only ever been here for beers. This weekend, I went with my fiance and we had beers (Man Beer for me - yum!; Big Ben Brown Ale for him) and we decided to order food.

I'd seen in the reviews that the Apple Steak Salad  was a winner and BOY did it deliver. The steak was so tender and juicy, fantastic dressing and blue cheese crumbles - SO GOOOD. Definitely one of the best salads I've ever had.

I've also been reading in the reviews that B&B is a great burger spot as well - Can't wait to get back and try a burger!

This place is great, such a lil gem surprising for cherry creek Glendale area. Dark wood and fireplace remind me of my grandfathers study, if he even had a study.

The food is spot on better than you would imagine with a wide selection of beers, whiskeys.

    Check it out!
