This is my neighborhood bar, its literally in my back yard. That being said I visit it 3 times a month tops. Draft types are limited upstairs (Only place I ever go... Went downstairs once... never again) They do have a Sam Seasonal on tap which is good since I'm from Boston. Â The food is ok pub food. I stick to the chicken fingers since I don't eat red meat. However my friends say its easily the best burger in town. Their sides however suck. Best option is onion rings, not a fan of the potato wedges. There always seems to be more staff then customers, but again I go on off nights. Weekends I can hear the live music from porch, sounds good most of the time.
Review Source:came here st. party's day for a change of scenery.. Â nice place.. Â love the quieter atmosphere of upstairs bar/pool room.. Â like how the pool/darts area is "seperated" from the bar area.. Â Ian, the bartender was awesome..!! Â great service..!! Â only complaint is - not enough beers on draft, maybe larger/domestic selection.. Â and "one horse town" bathrooms, only 3 of them.. Â wish i could have tasted the burger, but got there after kitchen closed at 10pm..
Review Source:So, I have sat here for a while trying to figure out how to best start this review. Â I have such mixed emotions about this place.
I had been here almost a year ago. Â The food and the service were both good last time - but, its so damn far from where I live it makes coming here often pretty impractical. Â
This past Saturday night - I thought about the restaurant. Â I wasn't doing much at the time so, I got my roomie and he and I drove 30 minutes to eat at this cool Restaurant/Pub.
We walked in and stood there for about 5 minutes or so. Â There were plenty of empty tables in the place (which, if you've never been - the restaurant downstairs is very small) and lots of employees walking around - none of which spoke to us. Â We waited for about 5 minutes and finally someone came to seat us. Â Except - she was trying to NOT seat us. Â She asked if we were there for the music. Â I told her no, we had just wanted to get some dinner. Â She then said that it might be best if we went upstairs to the bar, then, because they had the tables downstairs reserved for an 8pm show. Â It was just now 7pm. Â I asked was there no way we could be seated down here? Â She relented (but didn't seem happy about it) and gave us a table that was reserved at 8:15. Â I guess I didn't understand that why they needed to keep the tables empty for an hour + ? Â I mean - restaurants have reservations all the time, right? Â Why try to get me to go upstairs to the bar area? Â I mean - I know she had no idea where I came from - but I drove 30 minutes just to eat here in this area. Â I don't know - just rubbed me the wrong way.
Then we get seated and it took a full 20 minutes before someone came over to even get our drink order. Â We were JUST about to get up and walk out when the server finally came by to get our order. Â I stayed longer than I normally would have - but, we drove 30 minutes and I wasn't looking forward to turning around and driving back. Â But, from there - once we actually GOT our order placed - things improved. Â My drink was refilled a couple times, the food was hot and fresh. Â All in all - pretty good.
My roomie and I both got the burger. Â I asked for bacon on mine and she said it already came with bacon. Â Which, was news to me since the cheeseburger only indicates it comes with cheese on it. Â Whatever - that was fine. Â But maybe they should call it a bacon-cheeseburger instead of just a cheeseburger...? Â The fries were OK. Â
Again, the food was decent (although the menu is incorrect), the hostess rubbed me the wrong way and the service couldn't have been slower. Â So, for those reasons - I'm giving it 2 stars. Â I've had better, for sure. Â Maybe you'll have better luck if you stop in on the Pig.
