JJ's Wine Bar

This is a long-time favorite spot for us.  We enjoy discovering new wines here all the time, and we like to have dinner there.  The porch is great when the weather is nice.  We especially like it when there is live music.  Since it is a house, there are all different areas, and each one has a slightly different feel.

Something different...worth a try if you like to experiment with several wines. Overall, nice.

This bar concept is really neat and innovative. Basically you get to choose if you want a taste (1 oz), half glass (3 oz) or full glass (6 oz) of each wine they offer. I found several varietals from California winemakers that I'd always been meaning to try but had found their per glass or bottle price too steep. For those wines, I was able to sample just a taste which was really awesome. The price per ounce varies greatly on the cost of the wine bottle itself, but I was able to find options between $1-7 per ounce, with the majority of the taste being around the $2-3 mark.

In terms of ambiance, this lovely wine bar is located in a historic residence that has been rehabbed on the inside to house a sleek, and modern bar. The front parlor is a lovely place for a drink or if the weather is cooperative, out on the patio.

This bar is great for wine newbies who want to try a bit of everything or sample different selections as their palates mature. I really hope to see this concept expand to other bars and forms of alcohol.
