We decided to try the Stirrup Cup after receiving a gift certificate that allowed us to choose our own restaurant. We had a little trouble figuring out which area was Lorainne's and which was the Stirrup Cup, since the Stirrup doesn't have any signs. Turns out it is the bar area that is on the left when you enter the Marriott.
The atmosphere was quite nice, with warm woods and low lighting. I had never been in this hotel before, and it also was very nice looking. The Stirrup Cup had plenty of TVs, so if you're looking to watch your fav sport, they've got you covered.
The service was OK, but nothing special - as was the food. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and my boyfriend ordered the Thai wings. The grilled chicken on the salad was actually quite good. It was very moist and tender, with a good flavor from the seasonings. It was, however, very salty. The salad itself was alright. I had a lot lettuce pieces that came from the stalky end of the leaf. The dressing was pretty good and was really creamy. That said, you might want to ask for the dressing on the side. The salad was way overdressed! It got really overwhelming as I ate. The Thai wings were also OK, but nothing to write home about. I thought they were really sweet.
Definitely not bad for a Marriott Hotel bar, with good service, food, and drinks at a reasonable price. We also held a happy hour event for 25 people, and they were very accommodating. Happy hour has some very well-priced apps and drinks, with typical bar fare like fried green tomatoes, quesadillas (huge portions!), sliders, etc. You can also order from the hotel restaurant, which served up some very good crayfish bisque and buttermilk chicken. As a bonus, for Marriott rewards members, you get tokens for free drinks when checking into the hotel :). Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Stirrups, as my experience at other Marriott Hotel bars/restaurant have been less than memorable.
