Burnsville Ale House

My husband likes this place for the beer selection but I'm over this place. Twice we've been there and the service is slow, we go in knowing what we want and still can't get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. My only thought to explain this is there is a "bar" seating side and a more family friendly/booth side with the wait staff managing both sides; thus the booth side seems to get neglected.

Happy hour was 1/2 off MOST appetizers, meaning everything but what we wanted. We got the crab cakes although they weren't included in happy hour and they were good...2 per order. I got the BBQ bacon cheeseburger and it was a pretty standard burger. Hubby got the Reuben because they were out of roast beef. Wanted to substitute veggies for fries and then the order came with fries but the wait staff did bring the veggies however the temptation of fries was already there. :(

I'll have to be really hungry and be bribed to go back a third time.

Ya probably not coming back here. Service: ok, Food: terrible, Prices: absolutely ridiculous for this hole in the wall dump. I would almost rate this worse than Mccrappins except at least here we actually saw a waitress... Sorry but most tap rooms or ale houses don't have loud annoying live music and bad food. They painted the place up nice and created a good atmosphere and then totally destroyed it with every other choice they made when setting up this business.

We stopped here last weekend for the first time as The Burnsville Ale House.  This used to be The Edge and it was our favorite place to go for burgers.

Although it was nice before, they have done some updates with paint, new tables, floors, etc. and it looks really nice.  I was pretty surprised as their dog sign looked pretty cheesy from the outside.  They have lots of parking and plenty of room on the inside.  On a busy Saturday night, they had plenty of room and extra tables.

Our server was very nice.  The food took a little while to arrive, but that's not a big deal to us as long as it's good.  However, the food wasn't anything too special.  Their "specialty" was a "dog" which pretty much was BBQ with black olives in a hot dog bun.  No hot dog like you'd expect.  Although it was cheap, it wasn't anything to really brag about.  The burgers were pretty average and were nothing like they were at The Edge.  Their "crispy" fries were thicker fries and again, weren't anything special.

I give them three stars because overall it's a nice place with good service.  However, most of the time when we go out it's for a meal and since the food wasn't anything spectacular this would be towards the middle of our list of places to go.
