Don't waste your time (or money) on the She Crab soup. They should just call it She soup because there's hardly any crab in it. I had the snow crab legs (Tuesday dinner special) to get my full of crab. They were as good as snow crab legs can be. I sat outside and service was barely okay. Probably won't go back if I'm ever in VA Beach again.

A very convenient spot to grab food after a day by the water. I got excited by the 'Raw Bar' part of the signs, but upon entering found that the only raw option was a local oyster. They only carry one, and my server couldn't remember what it was called. We ordered a dozen for around a buck a piece. I will chalk it up to the recent string of storms, because while they were fresh, they were a little dirty. I rinsed them out in the bed of ice water and liked the taste, but these were not a variety I would go out of my way to order again.

We also had a cup of the she crab soup. It was good, but I have found other options I like better. My cup was very lacking in crab which was sad after reading Pat G's review. To drink we had sweet teas which I was very happy to find was made in house and very good.

Dog friendly patio so that is always a plus, but bring your own bowl.

I just love the Shucker's on Shore Drive. I live right around the corner, so we go pretty often for happy hour...how can you turn down $2 beers and half priced shrimp? Dinner food is pretty delicious and reasonably priced. The Kamikaze Shrimp Wrap is great! The bartenders are awesome and always on top of their game. Service is mostly good, but they sometimes forget what you ordered. I'm moving out of the area soon and will definitely miss this awesome neighborhood bar.

I popped in last Friday on my typical weekend bar tour. I stayed long enough to enjoy a drink while buddy pounded down three of them. From the looks of what I saw on other people's plate, the happy hour specials on the wall and from the Yelp reviews this place is deserving of a full sit down dinner. The pound of shrimp I saw someone order looked pretty damn good.

For what I was looking for last week it's a good place to go to catch a sports game while sipping on a beer. The bartenders were cool and the bouncers at the door were pretty laid back.

I suspect the steamed shrimp and the wings here are pretty good, although I can't say for certain because none of my crowd ordered either this Sunday evening. Instead, we started with the calamari, which was overcooked, and thus, tough. The broccoli balls were too heavily battered. But the beer --Fat Tire on tap and Corona from the bottle were good.

One of our party ordered the fish tacos, which she judged mediocre at best. My wife had the fried oysters, which were adequate, yet nothing to write home about. But the hush puppies that came with her meal were, again, overcooked to the point they were about one shade shy of black. Either the oil was running too hot or the hush puppies weren't tended to in a timely manner. Take your pick, the result was the same, i. e., not optimum.

I ordered the broiled crab cakes. Big mistake. I fancy myself something of an expert in crab cakes. I also have a bad habit of ordering them just about everywhere I see them on the menu. CP Shuckers bills theirs as made with no fillers, usually a good sign. Upon arrival,  at first blush, these looked promising. Good size, ball shaped rather than flat, and seemingly broiled to perfection. So much for appearances. Cutting to the chase, these perhaps were the worst crab cakes I've ever been served in a restaurant. I've had crab cakes chocked with filler that were better than these. Most disappointing. They obviously were prepared with crab meat from Indonesia or the like, cuz that crab meat sure as hell wasn't from around here. I understand that foreign  crab meat is cheaper and, after all, this still was winter. Nonetheless, there's no excuse to use crab meat sourced from other than the East Coast of the USA or the Gulf in Virginia Beach, of all places. No excuse at all. Better to leave crab cakes off the menu than opt for this crap. Typically, I never leave crab cakes on my plate in a restaurant, no matter how disappointing they are. But I did tonight. I'm sorry guys, but these cakes were truly awful. You can always tell imported crab meat when it flakes off in small chip-like pieces and it has no flavor. Moreover, these cakes were dry, so the flaky stuff readily gave itself away.

The long and short of it is that, in my judgment, CP Shuckers is a bar that serves food, not a restaurant. Stick with the bar fare, and you should be fine. But run, do not walk, away from the entrees on the menu lest you be greatly disappointed.

That said, I'd be happy to go back for beer and steamed shrimp, and the burgers and hot dogs, I bet, are awesome. But do yourself a favor, guys, scratch the crab cakes.

Great casual place.  The food is always good.  The wings are the best in town.  Ask for them finished on the grill.  The tuna bites, bay chips and cheese and grouper tacos are also very good.

The service is normally very good.  We also do takeout from here with good success

Good happy hour on food and drinks.  You can't beat the shrimp and wings during happy hour.  We tend to get in early so we get our food and drinks in before 7:00.

My kids also like the kids menu and the TVs.   My daughter loves the $2.00 bowl of ice cream as dessert.

Highly recommend Cp's early in the evening with kids.

Good place to watch games during football season. Lots of tv's, good drink specials and the food wasn't bad. Happy Hour on the weekend lasted all day until 7 pm!

We sat at the bar and from the start our server was very rude. She was hardly interested in serving us at all. She kept looking around in her bag, at her phone an talking to the regulars. We were starving and we she never gave us menus! When I asked her what she recommends, she pointed at the board that had the specials on it (which I read already). I just wanted to know what on the menu was popular. Anyway, I ordered the steamed shrimp, which was pretty yummy; however, It took me ten minutes just to get the peels off. It was greasy and had no slits or cuts in the shell to even help me peel them off. By the time I got them all open, my boyfriend was done with 2 out of 3 of his fish tacos. (Which he ordered soft shell and they came in a hard shell, but he said they were good anyway)

When we were leaving my boyfriend saw his navy buddies sitting at a table and had us sit down for drinks. We sat and I couldn't help but notice their rude waitress. By the way, every waitress is like 16 years old in little skimpy outfits. If you like this sorta thing then go for it. His friend was making jokes with the waitress and she did not even crack a smile. She forgot their beers off and on and was very rude from the start. Interesting experience to say the least. I will not be coming back.

Almost perfect!  This was our second visit to C P Shucker's.  Remembering that our first visit was good we gave it a second try to see if it would still be good and it was.  Luckily we were there during Happy Hour so oysters were 50 cents each and well drinks were $2.00, $3.00 for a double.  We each had the $3.00 drinks (twice), a dozen raw oysters, split a She Crab Soup, I had the pulled pork sandwich and he had the fish fry.  The oysters were cold and tasty.  The She Crab soup was probably the best I have every had with chunks of crab in it.  My pulled pork sandwich (Carolina Style with the vinegar-like sauce) was tasty.  It came with cole slaw and home made potato chips.  The only drawback was the fish fry.  It was fried grouper.  There was more breading than fish.  We prefer a thicker fish like cod or haddock.
See pics of oysters and pork sandwich.
    Bill with tax $47.00.

Shrimp are delicious as are the wings! Some people say the wings are over cooked, but I like them that way! The Crab and cheese dip are amazing, and the real chips made in house are in a class alone. Mostly locals hang out in clicks here, so don't expect to meet any new friends, although one waitress, Courtney, is super cool, easy to talk to, and for the most part kept me entertained, so I'll be back.

I love the sandwiches here.  My favorites are the burgers and the French Dip and The Blackened Tuna Philly.  The salads with calamari or shrimp on them are great!!  The waitresses are hot and always friendly.  I've always had good service and look forward to another lunch here soon.  There are a lot of TV's for sports.  It can be a little loud on Fri, Sat, Sun but still worth going to for a great lunch.

Good food, and the waiter was good with the children. We went early to avoid the crowd we saw there later the same night.

Worth a trip if you're in the area.  Not a bad place to watch some sports and grab a beer.  Draft selection is okay.  Food menu is pretty extensive.

Stumbled onto this place driving down Shore Drive and boy was I surprised.  We definitely will be back.  Food is very good.  Atmosphere is laid back and the prices are great.  Great place to watch a game and have a cold beer.  I had the fish tacos and they were great.  Plenty of parking.

This place is really laid back, the staff is great, the drinks are stiff and I do recommend the Nachos.

Shuckers is a great place to just enjoy some laid-back hanging out. Nothing pretentious in here, just inexpensive drinks, friendly bartenders, and some good food.

Shuckers has the best broiled crab cakes eva! The hot crab dip is great and creamy. This is a must eat every time we are in VA BCH. The salads there are amazing; loaded with the freshest veggies. The only down side is sometimes the service is slow. But we keep coming back.

Schuckers is an old school locals hang out.  Nothing special and nothing outstanding, they've got decent seafood specials and the drinks are always flowing.  The myriad of televisions will keep you entertained if your buzz and buddies aren't enough.  The bartenders are nice and you won't feel like too much of a loser if you're sitting alone.

After a day laying out and swimming at the beach, the best follow up is to hop on your bike and head for some good drinks and eats. CP Shucker's is the perfect place to not worry about beach hair and sandy feet and just enjoy some delicious food.
Unpretentious and casual. CP Shucker's has a good mix of locals, music and grub. I would suggest using this place as a transition from a long hot day into the night. I love to hunker down for a couple of hours and enjoy the people and drinks, which are both straight forward and simple.
The seafood is the biggest draw on the menu, but the pulled pork bbq sandwich and 1/2 burger often tempt hungry beach goers. If you're trying to keep that bikini bod in shape, they even have a "lighter side" menu including the tofu, sprout and cucumber sandwich. It may be low in calories but its rich in taste with grilled marinated tofu and spicy aoli sauce on pita bread.
They have a variety of beers on tap and by bottle with a range of prices that can match your budget. The bar is creative and will concoct a drink suited just to your tastes.
CP Schucker's is the ideal place to escape from the heat and start your night off right.

During my stay to VB, my husband and I found ourselves here on most nights. Best Bartenders on the East Coast. A favorite local hangout . Good tunes, Good People and Very Good drinks. The Root beer Shooter has now made its way into my life... so good, so good, so good.
