I was so hungry that when I saw this place at the airport, I told myself I can't go wrong since I've liked and have given 5 stars to the other Patachou places.
First, it took forever for our order. I would say about 25 minutes. Then, they messed up on my broken yolk burger. They don't have fries so I ordered a side of chips. When they served my food, they gave me a side salad instead. Then, they forgot to put Brie on my burger. When I informed the server, he went back to the kitchen and gave me 3 small slices of cold Brie cheese. Then the yolk wasn't runny at all. The server apologized and promised me to give me dessert. When I paid the bill and everything, he did not give me his promised dessert. I didn't have time since I have to go through security and board so I didn't bother.
I say, Patachou failed me on this one.... On food and service.
I have been here twice while waiting for flights and the service was slow and the food just ok both times.
On our most recent trip, the service was faster than last time, but my turkey breast sandwich was really dry without much flavor. To be fair, on the menu it comes with cream cheese, but I didn't want to eat the dairy. I also didn't want the mayo, but wanted dijon which they failed to do. The greens that accompanied the sandwich were better than the sandwich as was my husband's salad.
Next time I'm at the airport, I'll go to Naked Tchopstix or Qdoba.
Okay, so I've never actually tried the Cafe Patachou outside of the airport, but I heard they are much better. Â Well, I finally arrived early enough to have a sit down breakfeast. Â I ordered the broken yolk sandwich with bacon since I LOVE any kind of egg yolk broken. Â You can choose the type of bread you would like your sandwich on, so I got it with english muffin. Â The sandwich comes with a side of fruit cup. Â The sandwich was amazing. Â The yolk was a perfect sunny side up egg that you can cut into and have the yolk run through your sandwich. Â YUM! Â The fruit was sweet and came with strawberries, apples, and grapes. Â It was a bit pricey for a one person breakfeast (around $15 after tip/tax); however, it was worth the money. Â There was soo much food that I wasn't even hungry at 2pm, and I ate the meal at 7:30am! Â I would definitely go back.
One more thing, some people were complaining about the service. Â It wasn't that bad if you sat in the dining area. Â There were 6 tables including me, and I was able to be in and out within 30mins.
I think Jamie Oliver's next project should be to take on airport food. Â As I write this I'm in the Denver airport. Â And trust me, the pickings are slim. Â Most eateries here make you feel like cattle at a trough.
I feel proud that Indy airport has it so good. Â I stopped into Cafe Patachou for lunch before catching my flight. Â I had a very nice soup/half-sandwich combo. Â The sandwich had bountiful vegetables, and fresh wheat bread. Â The soup came with slivers of cheese and crunchy herb croutons. Â The service was friendly. Â I felt like I was having a real meal! Â Thumbs up.
This location has great food but slow service. Â I stood in line for 20 minutes because the clerk couldn't multi-task drinks at a cafe table, two older ladies who couldn't decide on take-out and my desire for a quick soda to go. Â After quenching my thirst elsewhere, I met my friend here for supper an hour later. Â Eating inside the restaurant (with full menu service) at an airport food court was great. Â I began with tomato-artichoke soup (great) and we both had a Caesar salad with avocado, bacon and a well flavored dressing. Â You don't eat here on the cheap though--two salads, one soup, and two teas came to $28 plus tip. Â Clean and quiet though!
Review Source:I was hanging out at the Indianapolis Airport, waiting for my flight back to Philly when I decided to get something for dinner. Â The menu at Cafe Patachou was exactly what I like to see--organic, locally grown foods. Â I had the Patachou burger, with brie, bacon, and mushrooms on a toasted brioche roll. Â It was so so tasty. Â Definitely a good burger, and since I ate in the airport I'd say it was excellent. Â The side salad was good with fresh vegetables and a good dressing. Â Friendly service made it a great place to eat!
Review Source:McDonald's had stopped serving breakfast and a fellow traveler recommended Cafe Patachou, which is one of the many choices for food in the Civic Plaza at the new Indianapolis Airport. It's VERY good. Excellent and friendly service. Delicious granola. Fruit cup was better than the fruit cups we get in California! The egg and bacon (and cheese) sandwich was superb. The wheat bread was possibly the best I have ever had. Â Highly recommend for a good meal at the Indy airport.
